Currently, at least 110 universities have announced the Lunar New Year 2025 holiday calendar so that students have time to prepare for family reunions.
With just a few weeks to go until Lunar New Year 2025, many universities have completed their holiday schedules for students. As of now, the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is the school with the fewest Lunar New Year holidays, with 9 days.

This year, the Prime Minister agreed to let officials, civil servants, and public employees nationwide have 9 days off, including 5 official Lunar New Year holidays and 4 weekly days off as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code. The holiday period starts from January 25 to February 2, 2025 (ie December 26 to January 5).
Most universities give students a longer break. The reason is that schools have the initiative to plan their training and the school year time frame. Tet usually coincides with the end of the first semester, so the break schedule does not affect students' studies.
