6 major universities open second campuses near Hanoi

Top universities such as: National Economics University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Foreign Trade University, Hanoi Law University, Hanoi Pharmacy University will open second campuses in provinces bordering the capital.

After working with the National Economics University , the People's Committee of Ha Nam province agreed to allocate 40 hectares of land in the Nam Cao University area and spend 800 billion VND from the local budget to support the school in building the second branch.

In the immediate future, the province will accompany and support the school in procedures, site clearance, design and construction. The amount of 800 billion VND will be used to invest in building social housing projects for teachers to rent or buy, building student dormitories, consulting on design, and 1/500 planning.

Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, Director of the National Economics University, said that the second branch of the university coming into operation will be an opportunity for teachers and students to have a good environment to study and research.

This is an opportunity for students to experience from research in school to practice at factories in the province. National Economics University will urgently carry out the necessary procedures to deploy investment in building branch 2.

In the project to develop Hanoi University of Science and Technology into one of the top universities in Asia, issued yesterday (March 25), the Prime Minister assigned the goal of investing in building the school's second campus in Van Giang district, Hung Yen province in a modern direction, expanding the space for learning and research.

The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province also agreed to support the construction of Hanoi Medical University, campus 2, in the province with an area of ​​about 30 hectares, located in the Bac Ninh science and technology application research training area (Division No. 12, Lim urban area expansion, Tien Du district).

The scale of investment includes: Construction of training areas, hospitals and research institutes applying high-tech medicine with a total estimated investment of 3,150 billion VND. Of which, the scale of students is about 3,000 people; the scale of the practice hospital is about 1,000 beds; the scale of the research institute.

The project to build Hanoi Law University Campus 2 with an area of ​​nearly 28 hectares is being carried out in Tu Son city (Bac Ninh province), with a total investment of more than 1,700 billion VND. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.

The project to build the Hanoi University of Pharmacy campus 2 in Bac Ninh covers an area of ​​over 20 hectares, located right next to the highway. When completed, this will be a place to meet the learning and living needs of about 5,000 students. This project has a total investment of over 1,350 billion VND.

Foreign Trade University Campus 2 is planned to be built in Dong Nguyen Ward, Tu Son City. This location is about 30km from the main campus in Hanoi.

Phase 1 (2026-2030) has a total training target of about 5,500 students. By Phase 2 (2030-2040), the total training target will increase to about 12,000 students (not including more than 800 staff and lecturers).

It is expected that the Foreign Trade University Bac Ninh campus will have full facilities such as administrative area - headquarters, lecture halls, library, dormitory, hall, off-campus sports center, multi-purpose hall, and park.
