General Director of Vietnam Social Security Nguyen The Manh, Mr. Phan Van Men - Director of Hanoi Social Security and some units under Vietnam Social Security visited the victims of the fire.
Implementing the direction of the General Director of Vietnam Social Security in Official Dispatch No. 2845/VP-BHXH dated September 13, 2023, Hanoi Social Security urgently resolved the funeral and survivor benefits for social insurance participants who were victims of the mini apartment fire on Khuong Ha Street, Khuong Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi according to the provisions of law.
Of the 56 people who died in the fire, 17 were participating in social insurance and were reserving their social insurance participation period.
Accordingly, as of the morning of September 19, Hanoi City Social Insurance and district, town social insurance have paid death benefits to relatives of workers with a total amount of more than 567 million VND.
Of which, funeral expenses for 11 people totaled 198 million VND; one-time death benefits for 6 people totaled more than 369 million VND.
Regarding the settlement of death benefits and burial expenses for victims of the fire, the social insurance agency will make payments directly to the relatives of the deceased at home, without requiring people to go to the social insurance agency to complete the procedures.
Along with that, the Vietnam Social Insurance sector organized support and visited families of victims in the mini apartment fire in Khuong Ha, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.
Vietnam Social Security has supported 45 injured people and 56 dead people, with a total budget of 258 million VND. Specifically, support of 3 million VND for each deceased person and 2 million VND for each injured person. The support money is drawn from the industry's centralized welfare fund, contributed from the salaries of civil servants, public employees, and workers.
