Continuing to affirm his talent and competitive performance at the 2024 National Swimming and Diving Tournament, swimmer Nguyen Huu Kim Son, currently a student at Duy Tan University, brought home for the Da Nang City Sports Delegation as well as added to his medal collection: 2 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal and 2 Bronze medals.
The 2024 National Swimming - Diving Championship is an annual tournament held between many provinces and cities and this year is hosted by the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association and the Department of Culture - Sports of Da Nang. This year's season takes place from October 10 - 20, 2024 at the Hai Chau District Swimming and Diving Club, Da Nang City. This is the most important tournament in the competition system of the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association.

This year, the tournament attracted nearly 300 athletes from 23 sports delegations from units across the country. Of which, Swimming had 18 delegations with more than 120 athletes competing in 6 events:
- Freestyle swimming,
- breaststroke,
- Backstroke,
- butterfly,
- Mixed swimming, and
- Relay swimming.
Diving has 18 teams with more than 160 athletes competing in 6 events:
- Speed Diving,
- Diving equipment,
- Twin fin diving,
- Relay diving, and
- Scuba diving.
Regarding Swimming, the host sports delegation of Da Nang competed in all events and swimmer Nguyen Huu Kim Son was one of the elite athletes of the delegation competing in 4 events:
- Men's freestyle,
- Relay swimming,
- Mixed swimming, and
- Breaststroke.

Demonstrating his talent, perseverance and efforts in each competition, swimmer Kim Son has achieved impressive results including:
- 2 Gold Medals in the Men's 4x100m Medley Relay and Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay,
- 1 Silver Medal in Men's 100m Breaststroke, and
- 2 Bronze medals in the Men's 50m Breaststroke and 4x100m Mixed Medley.
In the Men's 4x100m Mixed Relay, Kim Son competed with athletes including: Hoang Quy Phuoc, Nguyen Ngoc Trien and Nguyen Viet Tuong. All 4 athletes understood each other very well and supported each other to win the prestigious Gold medal.
Kim Son shared: "Previously, at the National Swimming Championship held in Hue at the end of March 2024, Kim Son, along with Mr. Quy Phuoc and his teammates, competed and won the Gold medal in the Men's 4x100m Freestyle Team Swimming event. In this tournament, the two brothers' understanding was even more evident in each stroke to achieve the best results. In addition, the youthfulness of Viet Tuong and the super swimming ability of Mr. Ngoc Trien increased the strength of the whole team to compete brilliantly."
Practicing sports helps Kim Son have very good physical strength for success in competition and study.
The time of participating in the tournament was also the time when Kim Son was taking the final exam at Duy Tan University. However, the seniors in the Da Nang Sports delegation and the teachers at Duy Tan University all provided maximum support for Kim Son to complete both his studies and competitions well.
“ One of the advantages is that this tournament is held in Da Nang - the city where I live and study, so I don't have to waste time traveling. I also have more time to practice swimming, so I am very confident when participating in the competition. I am quite satisfied with the results of myself and my teammates. What I was happiest about when participating in this tournament was that Master Dang Thien Tam - lecturer at the School of Economics and Business (SBE), Duy Tan University, and many of my classmates came to cheer me on. The feeling was so joyful and hard to describe, I felt like I was given more motivation to compete at my best in this tournament as well as to try harder in the following seasons ", Kim Son excitedly said.
With a determined competitive spirit and serious efforts in studying at school, Nguyen Huu Kim Son has demonstrated his ability to balance his sports career and his studies. Kim Son's achievements are not only a source of personal pride, but also contribute to helping the Da Nang Sports Delegation achieve more achievements in many important sports tournaments over the past years.
