This afternoon, February 15, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung inspected the construction progress of resettlement areas of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway project under the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project phase 2021 - 2025 in Cam Lo, Gio Linh and Vinh Linh districts.
The Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway Project has a total length of 65.7 km, starting at Van Ninh Commune (Quang Ninh District, Quang Binh Province), ending at Cam Hieu Commune (Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province). The section through Quang Tri Province is 32.53 km long, passing through Vinh Linh District for 14.25 km, Gio Linh District for 11.9 km and Cam Lo District for 6.38 km.
To stabilize the lives of about 351 households (88 households in Vinh Linh district; 132 households in Gio Linh district; 131 households in Cam Lo district) affected by the project and having to relocate, the province has deployed the construction of 9 resettlement areas in Cam Lo, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh districts (each district has 3 resettlement areas) with a total area of 37.24 hectares.

The report of the Steering Committee for Land Clearance (GPMB) of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway section said that as of February 15, 2024, compensation and payment of GPMB support money had been completed for 28.28 km/32.53 km, reaching 86.94%. The clean site had been handed over to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board for 24.69/32.53 km, reaching 75.9%. Currently, 29/351 resettlement households in Cam Lo district have been relocated.

In Vinh Linh district, there are 3 resettlement areas including: Vinh Khe commune, Vinh Ha commune, Ben Quan town. Vinh Khe commune resettlement area (area of 3.35 ha, divided into 28 lots for 28 households) has completed leveling the ground, marking the plots; drainage system construction is 30% complete, traffic roads are 40% complete; it is expected to basically complete all infrastructure before March 11, 2024.
Vinh Ha commune resettlement area (area of 3.14 ha, divided into 40 lots for 40 households) has completed leveling, marking plots, drainage system construction reaching 90%, traffic roads reaching 60%; expected to basically complete all infrastructure before March 11, 2024.
Ben Quan town resettlement area (area of 1.52 ha, divided into 20 lots for 20 households) has completed leveling, marking plots, drainage system construction reaching 90%, traffic roads reaching 50%; expected to basically complete all infrastructure before February 25, 2024.
Gio Linh district has 3 resettlement areas including: Hai Thai commune, Linh Truong commune, Gio An commune. Hai Thai commune resettlement area (area of 3.04 ha, divided into 29 lots for 29 households) has completed leveling the ground, marking the plots, the work volume has reached over 95%.
The resettlement area of Gio An commune (area of 6.2 hectares, divided into 72 lots for 72 households) has completed the work of leveling the ground, marking the plots, constructing traffic roads, drainage, electricity and domestic water lines, reaching about 45% of the workload; it is expected to basically complete all infrastructure before March 11, 2024.
Linh Truong Commune Resettlement Area (area 3.38 ha, 31 households) has completed leveling and marking plots (28/31 plots), construction of traffic roads and drainage systems has reached about 35% of the workload; it is expected to basically complete all infrastructure before March 15, 2024.
Cam Lo district has 3 resettlement areas including: Cam Thuy commune, Cam Tuyen commune, Cam Hieu commune. Cam Tuyen commune resettlement area (area of 2.53 ha, divided into 15 lots for 15 households) has completed the work of leveling the ground, marking the plots, constructing traffic items, bridges, drainage culverts, restoring canals and structures, reaching about 50% of the workload; it is expected to basically complete all infrastructure before March 15, 2024.
Cam Thuy Commune Resettlement Area (area of 3.16 ha, divided into 20 lots for 20 households) has completed the work of leveling the ground, marking the plots, constructing traffic routes, drainage culverts, restoring canals and structures, reaching about 40% of the workload; it is expected to basically complete all infrastructure before March 15, 2024.
Cam Hieu Commune Resettlement Area (area of 10.92 ha, 96 households) has completed leveling, marking plots (56/96 plots), construction of traffic roads, drainage and components reaching about 40% of the workload; it is expected to basically complete all infrastructure before March 15, 2024.

After inspecting the field at many resettlement areas and listening to reports from units and localities, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung acknowledged the efforts of departments, branches, units and localities in the process of implementing site clearance and resettlement of this key project.
At the same time, it is required that in the coming time, departments, branches, units and localities need to base on their assigned functions and tasks, promptly advise and remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up the site clearance progress according to the set plan.
We must be determined to speed up the construction progress of resettlement areas and ensure the quality of the works to best serve the people. We must focus on completing the electricity, water, traffic, drainage, landscape, entertainment areas, and community centers so that people can live in peace.
Strengthening mass mobilization work to gain people's sympathy and cooperation in the process of site clearance and resettlement. This will soon stabilize people's lives, create conditions for implementing key projects and promote local socio-economic development.
