Groundbreaking ceremony of Cho Moi Expressway Construction Investment Project

The Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway has a total length of nearly 29 km, of which the expressway section is more than 28 km long and the extension section is about 0.4 km long. The project is designed according to the standards of a class 80 expressway, with a design speed of 80 km/h and a scale of 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 22 m. There will be 16 bridges and 2 overpasses on the route. At the same time, a grade-separated intersection will be built at the intersection with National Highway 3 at Km9+500 and 2 level intersections at the beginning of the route at Km0+00 and the end of the route at Km28+829. The project has a total investment of more than 5,750 billion VND from the state budget, with an implementation period of 24 months and is guaranteed to be basically completed in 2026.

The project is invested by Project Management Board 2 of the Ministry of Construction; the project's construction contractor is a consortium consisting of Phuong Thanh Transport Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company, Truong Son Construction Corporation and Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh emphasized the importance of the Project in connecting Bac Kan with the capital Hanoi and Hai Phong international seaport through a modern road transport system. This will reduce transportation time and costs, support investment attraction, strengthen regional connectivity and connect localities.

Therefore, the Minister of Construction requested Bac Kan province to continue to focus on and resolutely organize the implementation of site clearance; pay attention to implementing resettlement work for people as soon as possible; support the quick settlement of licensing procedures for mining construction material mines; ensure security, order, organize convenient and safe traffic for people during the implementation process... Investors, supervision consultants, design consultants and construction contractors must ensure construction progress, quality, safety, and environmental sanitation; strictly comply with the technical requirements of the Project, and prevent corruption, negativity and waste.

Chairman of the Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dang Binh said that Bac Kan has actively implemented site clearance, compensation and resettlement support so that the project can start on schedule. The project is expected to reduce traffic accidents and meet transportation needs on the corridor from Bac Kan to localities in the Northern key economic region. The groundbreaking of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway marks an important step in completing the regional transport infrastructure, opening up opportunities for economic development and improving the lives of local people.

To achieve the set goals and progress, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province Nguyen Dang Binh requested relevant agencies, organizations, units and localities of the province to proactively coordinate with investors and contractors to quickly implement conditions for project construction, focusing on directing the acceleration of site clearance progress; proactively coordinate research and propose solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in mechanisms and policies during project implementation.
