Updating the implementation status of the railway renovation project in the Khe Net Pass area, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway route, a representative of the Railway Project Management Board said that this project is expected to start construction after the Lunar New Year 2024.
This is a project using ODA loans from the Korean Government, the registered capital is disbursed according to the construction progress. Currently, the Ministry of Transport has allocated enough capital for the project to be implemented.

For more information, a representative of the Railway Project Management Board said that the railway renovation project in the Khe Net Pass area, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line includes 2 construction packages: XL01 (Construction of 2 railway tunnels) and XL02 (Construction of bridges, railways, signal information and other works).
To date, the project has completed the contractor selection procedure for package XL01, and is expected to start construction after the Lunar New Year 2024. The expected construction period is 23 months.
Package XL02 is continuing the contractor selection process, expected to complete contract signing in January 2024 and start construction in February 2024.
It is known that the project to renovate the Khe Net Pass railway area, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line has a total length of nearly 7km in Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province. The total investment is more than 2,000 billion VND.
The main construction volume of the project includes works of lines, stations, tunnels, signal information...
For the project on the route, more than 2,255m of railway will be upgraded and renovated, and about 4,564m of new railway will be converted.
Dong Chuoi station was renovated, adding line 3; building a 300m long platform and building a new road to the station.
The project scope also includes renovating Tan Ap bridge; building 3 new bridges (approach bridge No. 1 is over 142m long, approach bridge No. 2 is nearly 573m long, approach bridge No. 3 is over 74m long); raising the wheel barriers of 2 existing bridges.
At the same time, reinforce the slope of the deep excavation before the North gate of tunnel No. 1 (from about Km415+600 to about Km415+860) and after the South gate of tunnel No. 2 (from about Km417+543.14 to about Km417+825 and from about Km417+985 to about Km418+075).
Constructing 2 new tunnels with a total length of 935m. Of which, tunnel 1 is 580m long, tunnel 2 is 355m long.
The information and signal system will be kept as audio frequency information system, optical information system; Adjust the current system to a centralized electric technology signal system, use relay interlock, semi-automatic line closing, engine recording, train generation by axle counting.
The project also reroutes about 350m of National Highway 15 (from about Km460+940 to about Km461+298) to create a flat surface for railway rerouting; renovates the power line system, builds new transformer stations, and relocates affected power lines within the project area.
