In recent days, the two projects to renovate Hoang Quoc Viet and Thanh Son streets have been actively implemented by Uong Bi City, achieving the set progress. This result comes from many sides, including the unanimous support of the majority of people in the area.
Hoang Quoc Viet Street, from Trung Doan Bridge to Tue Tinh Street, is about 1.18km long, passing through 4 residential areas of Thanh Son Ward; the total number of households affected by the renovation project is 166. The Thanh Son Street renovation project, from the 7-way intersection, Tran Hung Dao Street to Tue Tinh Street, is about 1.38km long; affecting 241 households.
Determining the progress and quality of the project depends largely on the consensus of the people. As soon as the city's policy on project implementation was announced, Thanh Son ward as well as residential areas organized meetings, provided specific information to the people, and at the same time carried out propaganda and mobilization to create consensus among the people. The residential areas also completed the community monitoring team, regularly coordinated with the construction unit and the ward to inspect and supervise the construction site on the implementation of construction measures, as well as ensuring environmental safety during the construction process. The City Construction Investment Project Management Board directed the project officers to closely follow the site, promptly handle arising issues, and require the contractors to minimize activities that negatively affect the lives and businesses of the people.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Son Ward, said: Thanks to the implementation of synchronous solutions and efforts from the grassroots level to the city, up to now, the construction process of the two projects to renovate Hoang Quoc Viet Street and Thanh Son Street has received high consensus and unanimity among the people. Many households have pioneered in coordinating and creating favorable conditions for site clearance and land clearance for the construction unit, typically the household of Ms. Vu Thi Tam (Group 1, Area 8) has agreed to dismantle the entire level 4 house where the family is living and donated nearly 80 square meters of land for the implementation of the project to renovate Hoang Quoc Viet Street. The household of Ms. Dam Thi Thuong (Group 1, Area 8) has also dismantled part of the kiosk along Hoang Quoc Viet Street to hand over the land for road expansion.
Along with the two projects to renovate Hoang Quoc Viet Street and Thanh Son Street, in 2024, Uong Bi City will also implement 5 other basic construction projects: Riverside Road, Provincial Road 338, Yen Tu Road extension, traffic route leading to the headquarters of the City Military Command, and the land swap project for the Provincial Prison. All of these projects have mostly received support from the people in donating land and architectural structures to carry out site clearance for construction.
It can be seen that the voluntary consensus of the people of Uong Bi City to donate land and architectural structures to hand over the project site in the implementation of basic construction projects affirms the correct policy, appropriate approach, and is supported by the people. This result of Uong Bi also shows the awareness and responsibility of the Party Committee and government from the city to the grassroots in leading and directing and creating consensus, creating solidarity, and arousing the sense of responsibility among the people to join hands with the local government to invest in renewing and upgrading technical infrastructure and transportation.
