The investigation and survey are typical types of intangible cultural heritage, focusing on traditional occupations, folk arts, cuisine, and festivals. The investigation and survey aims to identify and build a scientific database, propose plans to restore and preserve typical types, and contribute to promoting and introducing the values ​​of Cam Kim cultural heritage.

It is known that from the end of the 16th century to the beginning of the 17th century, Hoi An was a major commercial port city of Dang Trong, a transit point for international trade. Traditional crafts, including Kim Bong carpentry, Cam Kim commune (construction of architectural works, making civil woodwork and building boats) developed. Many famous artisans were invited to the capital Hue to participate in the construction of architectural works...

In November 2016, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized Kim Bong carpentry in Cam Kim commune as a national intangible cultural heritage.
