Opening of the program "Thai Binh Homecoming Day" and the 2023 Northern Delta International Agricultural Fair

On the evening of December 1, at Thai Binh Square (Thai Binh city), the Provincial People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the cultural exchange program - connecting Vietnamese - Korean enterprises "Thai Binh Homecoming Day" and the 2023 Northern Delta International Agricultural Fair.

Former President Truong Tan Sang and former President of South Korea Lee Myung Bak along with central and Thai Binh provincial delegates attended the ceremony.

Attending the event were comrades Truong Tan Sang, former Politburo member and former President; Tran Quoc Vuong, former Politburo member and former Standing member of the Secretariat; and leaders of several central ministries, departments and branches.

On the Korean side, there were Mr. Lee Myung Bak, former President of Korea, and Mr. Choi Young Sam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to Vietnam; Kim Jung Ryool, representative of Korea Desk Thai Binh in Korea, Chairman of Zenith Group.

On the side of Thai Binh province, there were comrades: Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, the National Assembly Delegation of the province and representatives of a number of departments, branches, and localities. Also attending were leaders of provinces and centrally run cities, enterprises inside and outside the province, and a large number of people from all walks of life.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: This is an event to honor the traditional cultural values of Korea, Vietnam and Thai Binh province; an opportunity to exchange, learn, cooperate, promote investment and strengthen solidarity between the two nations. He said that Thai Binh is currently preserving a huge treasure of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage with nearly 3,000 ancient architectural works, hundreds of village festivals, games, folk performances imbued with traditional cultural nuances of the Vietnamese people, typically the art of Cheo and water puppetry along with many Han Nom heritages reflecting the unique characteristics of the land and people of Thai Binh. At this year's international fair, there are more than 220 domestic and foreign enterprises participating, including more than 100 large brand enterprises from Korea. The fair brings together the most prominent OCOP agricultural products of Thai Binh province along with hundreds of high-quality Vietnamese products, providing opportunities for experience and effective trade, tourism and investment promotion cooperation for international partners, friends and people of all walks of life.

By organizing the series of events, the province hopes to strengthen and further tighten the close relationship between the two countries and peoples, as well as create opportunities for organizations, businesses and people not only from Thai Binh but also from the Northern region to learn and exchange culture with Korean partners. At the same time, Korean partners will also gain more understanding of Vietnamese cultural traditions, unique cultural features of Thai Binh province such as Cheo singing, water puppetry, historical and cultural relics, architecture, traditional craft villages, etc.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee believes that domestic and foreign partners will understand more about the land and people of Thai Binh, feel the aspirations of the Thai Binh people to rise up and choose Thai Binh as the top priority destination in their investment and business strategy. This good start will create the premise and basis for Thai Binh province, Zenith Group and Korean partners to regularly and periodically organize exchange and connection activities in the coming time.

In the joyful atmosphere when attending the cultural exchange program - connecting Vietnamese - Korean businesses "Thai Binh Homecoming Day", former Korean President Lee Myung Bak was moved to see Thai Binh province put a lot of effort into organizing a big and meaningful event. The former Korean President said that Thai Binh has become a region with fast economic growth, achieving many proud results. He believes that Thai Binh will soon become one of the major economic centers of Vietnam in the near future.

Proud of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Korea and the two countries' great achievements in many fields such as economy, culture, health, education... and especially people-to-people exchange, former President of Korea Lee Myung Bak affirmed: Culture is a bridge to enhance communication and understanding between us; cooperation between businesses is the driving force for economic development of the two countries. We all wish to create more opportunities for exchange and cooperation, thereby strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Korea. Hopefully, this event will be a good opportunity for all Vietnamese people, especially Thai Binh people, to experience cultural, artistic and culinary activities, getting closer to the people and country of Korea. The former President of Korea wished the program "Thai Binh Homecoming Day" and the International Fair in Thai Binh a great success.
