Mr. Puripan Bunnag, Senior Vice President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) at a business forum held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 24, said that since the beginning of the year, there have been about 35,000 visitors from Vietnam to Thailand under the MICE form. Thailand promotes and attracts Vietnamese MICE tourists
The country expects to increase the total number of MICE visitors from Vietnam to 50,000 in 2023. Thailand is promoted as a popular MICE destination in Southeast Asia. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the country welcomed 1.5 million MICE visitors from around the world each year. However, since the pandemic, the number has dropped by 50% to only about 750,000 visitors per year.
Therefore, the TCEB business forum held in Ho Chi Minh City also aims to promote and welcome Vietnamese enterprises to participate in exhibitions and conferences in Thailand. Mr. Puripan Bunnag emphasized that Vietnam's rapid economic growth, especially in the manufacturing and innovation sectors, along with the increase in foreign investment, has created a promising market for the development of the MICE market.
