This is one of E-Future's activities to create a connecting environment for potential startups in Vietnam to have the opportunity to contact Japanese venture capital funds, bringing opportunities for real and effective cooperation between potential investors and the startup community in Vietnam.
Forum overview
The program was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Pham Quang Hieu; leaders of the Japan Association of Professional Engineers; representatives of JICA; 20 investment funds, financial funds and Japanese enterprises interested in the Vietnamese market.
Notably, there are 7 startups participating in the forum representing 3 incubators from Vietnam including BK Holdings (Hanoi), Vietnam Innovation Hub (Da Nang), Bach Khoa Innovation (HCMC) and 3 Vietnamese startups in Japan.
At the event, Ms. Can Thanh Huyen, CEO of HSB JAPAN, spoke and officially announced the launch of E-Future with 6 members in the executive committee for the 2023 - 2025 term.
With the mission of supporting Vietnamese startups in accessing capital, markets, information and promoting technology transfer cooperation projects, E-Future focuses on activities such as providing information and consulting on the startup process, financial support, providing education and training programs, creating opportunities for connection and exchange between startups, investors, business partners and experts in the startup field.
The Vietnam - Japan Startup Forum 2023 is the beginning of E-Future on the journey to realize its mission.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu expressed his joy, support and affirmed the innovative role of startups in Japan in promoting the relationship between the two countries. The event was held on the occasion of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan relations, further strengthening the investment and cooperation relationship between the two countries.
Signing ceremony of cooperation with Vietnamese startups
The most notable event was the pitching (presentation to convince customers/investors to invest money/invest capital in your idea or company - PV) of 9 startups from Vietnam and Japan, namely Ecofa, Do Hoang Holding, EM&AI, Mmenu, furuCRM Inc, Deep Signature, V-Quantum, WENet, Notessen.
These are the most prominent startups in 2023 from two countries, operating in many different fields such as technology and sustainable environment, cloud computing, advanced technology in construction... Excellent pitches with creative business models from startups have made a good impression on investment funds, creating a positive signal for future investment deals.
At the end of the forum, a cooperation agreement signing ceremony was held between 3 startups participating in the forum. Particularly notable was the startup Do Hoang Holding (Hanoi) signing a cooperation agreement with 2 partners in Japan, Hanabi Co.Ltd and Sato Electical Engineering Seveice Col.,Ltd. This cooperation opens up opportunities to receive investment and expand the market in Japan thanks to the Vietnamese technology created by the Vietnamese.
