NDO - Recently, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation in coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province organized an online meeting and enrollment consultation for students of high schools in Nghe An province.
Attending the program, at Nghe An bridge, were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province; leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Provincial Education Trade Union, along with the Board of Directors, teachers and students of 16 high schools in the province.
At the Russian Federation bridge, there were Ms. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa, First Secretary, in charge of the Education Department, Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation, Representative of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam in Russia; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice President of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Russian Federation, Director of the Foundation for Promoting the Development of Russia-Vietnam Cooperation "Tradition and Friendship"; representatives of 5 Russian universities, including: Moscow State Aviation University (MAI), GVPlekhanov Russian University of Economics, NIPirogov Russian National Medical University, National University of Technology MISIS, Higher School of Economics HSE and Moscow Polytechnic University; and students from Nghe An currently studying at different universities in Moscow.

At the meeting, high school students from Nghe An province learned more about Russian education, opportunities to receive scholarships from the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as learning and living conditions for international students, including Vietnamese students. Through the program, practical sharing from Nghe An students currently studying in the Russian Federation motivated high school students in the province to learn more and explore more about opportunities to study in Russia.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, commented that this is a very good opportunity for students of the province to study abroad in a civilized country with advanced science and a long history of training high-quality human resources for many countries, including Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa suggested that the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation continue to coordinate, support and guide high school graduates in 2025 to have the opportunity to receive scholarships and study abroad in Russia.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Nghe An province will have about 37,000 high school graduates in 2025 and it is expected that in the coming years, this number will reach about 60,000 students, ranking 4th in the country.

Every year, the Government of the Russian Federation grants about 1,000 scholarships to Vietnamese citizens to study in the Russian Federation at the undergraduate, master's, doctoral, specialized internship and Russian language levels. This scholarship includes free study, monthly scholarship and accommodation in dormitories at the cost applied according to the regulations of the Government of the Russian Federation for students receiving scholarships.
Currently, there are about 5,000 Vietnamese students studying at different levels in the Russian Federation. The minimum living expenses for Vietnamese students in Russia are estimated at 100 million VND/year, depending on the school, region and individual spending level. For university students, the Russian Government has special preferential policies and subsidies for all services such as train tickets, buses, sightseeing, etc.
