Ivanka appeared in a New York court to provide testimony in a lawsuit surrounding alleged fraud by the Trump Organization.
Ivanka Trump appeared in court in Manhattan, New York on November 8, following a summons from Judge Arthur Engoron. Ivanka appeared in court as a witness, not on the defendant list like her father and two brothers.
During her testimony, Ivanka said she focused on redeveloping the Doral golf course in Florida and the Old Post Office property in Washington while serving as a senior executive at the Trump Organization from 2011 to 2017. Ivanka said she understood accounting somewhat but that it was not her area of expertise.
Ivanka was shown a 2011 email in which she acknowledged that lender Deutsche Bank’s requirement that her father maintain a net worth of at least $3 billion was a tough condition, but she still urged Trump Organization executives to agree. Ivanka told the court that she supported the deal but could no longer recall the specific terms.

Former US President Donald Trump posted on social media on November 7 that it was "sad" that his daughter Ivanka had to appear in court to give testimony.
Former US President Trump appeared in court on November 6, saying valuations of his assets were not always accurate, but asserted that the errors did not involve the financial institutions that used them to make deals. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, the former US president's sons, said last week that the financial records involved in the lawsuit were not their responsibility.
The appeals court in June removed Ivanka as a defendant, saying she was not involved in a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James accusing the Trump Organization of fraudulently inflating its assets.

Ivanka left the Trump Organization in 2017 to serve as an advisor to her father in the White House until 2021. However, Attorney General James still believes that Ivanka is involved in manipulating the value of Trump Organization's assets.
"She will try to distance herself from the company today, but unfortunately the facts will show that she was very much involved," Attorney General James said outside the court in New York on November 8.
James is seeking a $250 million fine and business restrictions in New York against the former US president and his two sons. Judge Engoron could rule that Trump will lose control of some of his most prominent properties, although the order is not yet in effect while the case is appealed.

In addition to the civil lawsuit in New York, Mr. Trump is facing four criminal trials for actions before, during and after his presidency, including two state cases in New York and Georgia and two federal cases in Florida and Washington.
