Within the framework of the official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran (August 8-10), on August 8, right after the official welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue held talks with Iranian Parliament Chairman Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his delight at visiting Iran, a country with a unique culture and long history, especially at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Iran, one of Vietnam's important partners in the Middle East, expressing his delight at the positive developments in the cooperative relationship between the two countries in recent years, especially in the fields of politics, diplomacy, culture, and people-to-people exchange.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf expressed his admiration for Vietnam's glorious history and achievements in national construction and development.
Welcoming and appreciating the visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, National Assembly Chairman Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf affirmed that the Iranian Parliament and people always attach importance to further promoting the friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, Iran's important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf expressed his belief that cooperation between Vietnam and Iran as well as between the two countries' parliaments will witness remarkable developments in the coming time.

On that basis, the two leaders discussed and agreed on specific measures to improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation in the coming time in areas such as continuing to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations and leaders of ministries, branches in charge of the economy, and localities of the two countries...
Promote people-to-people, cultural and artistic exchange activities to strengthen friendship and increase mutual understanding between the people of the two countries; enhance cooperation between committees and agencies of the National Assembly, the Friendship Parliamentarians' Association of the two sides, the group of female parliamentarians, and the group of young parliamentarians; promote the role of monitoring and promoting the implementation of agreements and commitments between the two countries; continue to coordinate and support each other at international forums, and prepare well for the 10th Meeting of the Vietnam-Iran Intergovernmental Committee in Hanoi.
In terms of economy, the two sides agreed to increase meetings and connections between localities and businesses of the two countries to seek opportunities for business and investment cooperation; creating conditions for each country's strong products to penetrate the other country's market.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that Iran increase imports of agricultural products such as rice, tea, pepper, coffee, rubber, etc. from Vietnam, and expressed his willingness to create conditions for Iran to export dried fruits, fruits, etc. to Vietnam.
The two sides agreed to cooperate in the production of products according to Halal standards. The two leaders also agreed to strengthen customs cooperation, resume cooperation mechanisms between the two countries such as the Joint Working Group on Banking Cooperation, the Vietnam-Iran Trade Working Group, etc. to seek breakthrough measures for economic and trade cooperation.

The Iranian Parliament Speaker said that Iranian businesses are increasingly interested in the Vietnamese market, highly appreciating the political stability and favorable investment and business environment, wishing to further strengthen economic, trade and agricultural cooperation with Vietnam; and are ready to create favorable conditions for businesses of both sides to cooperate in business and investment.
Also at the meeting, the two sides discussed many specific measures to promote cooperation in other potential areas such as science and technology, digital transformation, education and training, student exchange, promoting and attracting tourists from each country, etc.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully invited the Iranian Parliament Chairman to pay an official visit to Vietnam soon. Iranian Parliament Chairman Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf happily accepted the invitation and suggested that the relevant agencies of both sides soon arrange the visit through diplomatic channels.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has invited the Iranian Parliament to send a delegation to attend the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians to be held in Hanoi next September.

After the talks, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Chairman of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two parliaments.
