Some iPhone 15 Pro users have recently reported that their devices have a peeling sticker running along the contact area between the metal frame and the back of the device. According to BGR , this "strange" phenomenon is affecting a small group of Apple customers.
On social network Reddit, several iPhone 15 Pro owners also said they started to see "something like sticky material peeling off along the back edge".
The peeling part resembles the tape used to secure the back of the device.
“It felt like the entire back was a sticker ready to be torn off,” one user described. Another said that while cleaning the device, he discovered “a lot of this black stuff running down the sides.”
"I just bought an iPhone 15 Pro 2 days ago and encountered the same problem. Then I brought it to an Apple warranty point, the staff said that the adhesive tape that was used to hold the back cover fixed to the frame of the device was not properly glued, so it came off," shared user JDT33658. He said that Apple had exchanged it for a new device.
Some others believe that when encountering the above phenomenon, device owners should avoid letting the device come into contact with liquids because there is a risk of new problems arising, such as water getting into the circuit and components and risking losing the warranty.
On the iPhone 15 Pro, repairing the back panel is no longer the same as the previous generation. On the iPhone 14 Pro, the entire back panel will have to be replaced if damaged. But with the model just released in September 2023, technicians only need to replace the glass.
