Gradually increase the area of implantation
Head of the Economic Department of Phu Xuyen District, Le Tien Xuan, said that in the early stages, the application of transplanting machines in local rice production encountered many difficulties, reaching only 10-15% of the area of communes implementing the implementation. Thanks to the promotion and support of the city and district, the area of transplanting machines in the commune has increased sharply over the years. Up to now, the whole district has hundreds of transplanting machines, the area of transplanting machines is high. Notably, to overcome the difficulties in the stage of making concentrated trays of seedlings, cooperatives in Phu Xuyen district have had flexible ways of doing things. If there are conditions for land, households can buy trays of seedlings to preserve and care for themselves; the owner of the transplanting machine supports the members in sowing seeds.
This method helps members reduce the cost of making tray seedlings, at the same time, the cooperative overcomes the lack of land. Applying mechanical transplanting helps liberate a large number of agricultural workers, shifting to developing craft villages. Therefore, although Phu Xuyen's industry, handicrafts, and services are strongly developed, there is no situation of abandoned fields in the area.
According to Vice Chairman of Phu Xuyen District People's Committee Nguyen Trong Vinh, in recent years, in addition to the city's support (50% of the value of the transplanting machine), the district budget supports 10% of the value of the transplanting machine, the commune budget supports an additional 15% or more of the value of the transplanting machine, so the number of transplanting machines has increased over the years. Particularly from 2012 to present, the total support budget for the mechanization project in the tray seeding and machine transplanting stages of the district has reached tens of billions of VND. Currently, the District People's Committee also supports households applying the machine transplanting method at a rate of 75,000 - 100,000 VND/sao. This support has become a source of encouragement for people in production.
Also according to Vice Chairman of Phu Xuyen District People's Committee Nguyen Trong Vinh, to achieve the goal in 2025, Phu Xuyen district will have 50% or more of the rice growing area using tray seeding and machine planting methods, the district is promoting support for cooperatives to link in providing tray seeding and machine planting services.
At the same time, organize specialized training courses for users of machinery, equipment, techniques for using and repairing transplanters and seedling lines. Phu Xuyen district also recommends that the city have policies to support localities in establishing more centers for producing synchronous tray seedling at all stages.
Organize competitions to improve skills
Pursuant to Plan No. 05/KH-SNN dated January 7, 2025 of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on organizing the contest "Tray seedling production facilities and good transplanter operators in Hanoi City in 2025", the District People's Committee has issued a plan to prepare for organizing the contest "Tray seedling production facilities and good transplanter operators in Hanoi City in 2025" in the area with the participation of many districts in the city.
The purpose is to promote mechanization in production, especially in concentrated agricultural commodity production areas. Encourage farmers to apply mechanization in agricultural production, especially synchronous mechanization in production, contributing to increasing productivity, reducing input costs, saving seeds and pesticides, reducing post-harvest losses, and ensuring seasonality.
In addition, it is necessary to propagate and improve farmers' skills and knowledge about policies and guidelines; improve capacity in organizing production and developing agricultural services for cooperatives, organizations and individuals in need.
Through the contest, it will help establishments and farmers in Phu Xuyen district as well as districts participating in the contest have the opportunity to exchange and learn new experiences and technical advances, contributing to improving productivity, quality and sustainable agricultural development.
Vice Chairman of Phu Xuyen District People's Committee Nguyen Trong Vinh affirmed: The District People's Committee has established 2 teams including: Phu Thang Agricultural Cooperative, Phu Hung Agricultural Cooperative with each team of 5 people to participate in the competition and up to now, the task of the team is to prepare transplanting machines and practice to participate in the competition held in February 2025 in Nam Phong commune.
Also according to Vice Chairman of Phu Xuyen District People's Committee Nguyen Trong Vinh: the organizing committee of the contest will provide seeds, seedling trays, and growing media for the teams to carry out the tray seedling production process according to technical standards. The jury will organize the scoring according to the regulations issued by the organizing committee. Each team will sow 84 trays to serve the contest.
In addition, the teams must also introduce themselves with full information about their address, team name, names of team members, purpose, meaning and slogan showing their determination when participating in the competition. As for the field machine operator competition, the organizing committee will arrange an area for the teams to compete in the field, each team is allocated 2,520m2.
