Chau Thanh district, Long An province meets advanced new rural standards

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Decision No. 566/QD-TTg dated March 11, 2025 recognizing Chau Thanh district, Long An province, as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Long An province to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directed the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district to continue maintaining and improving the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in new rural construction.

After being recognized as meeting the new rural standards in 2019, Chau Thanh district continued to build advanced new rural areas. Up to now, the whole district has 12/12 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards, of which 6 communes meet the advanced new rural standards according to the criteria for the period 2021 - 2025, 1 model new rural commune, 1 town meeting the civilized urban standards; at the same time, the district has met 9/9 criteria for an advanced new rural district.

Besides, the district has done well in mobilizing all resources to invest and upgrade rural infrastructure in a synchronous and modern direction to effectively serve the requirements of production development and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

Average income per capita reached 71 million VND/year; multidimensional poverty rate decreased to 1.21%; satisfaction rate of local people with the results of building advanced new rural areas of the district was over 99%;...
