Cam Khe district focuses on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the water level of Thao River rose, causing flooding in many houses in communes along Thao River such as Phuong Vi, Tuy Loc, Minh Tan, Ngo Xa, Cam Khe town... in Cam Khe district.

Flood water on Thao River causes inundation for households along the river in Van Phu area, Cam Khe town, Cam Khe district.

According to provisional statistics of Cam Khe district, by about 2:00 p.m. on September 10, the whole district had 786 households affected by the rising flood waters of Thao River causing flooding, of which 490 households had to evacuate people and property (17 people in Phu Dong area, Cam Khe town were forced to evacuate).

Hundreds of hectares of fruit trees and crops are flooded, at risk of total loss and high yield reduction.

The dike embankment in Minh Tan commune caused flooding for 350 households. The entire 700m long right dike of Gieng canal in Tang Xa area, Tuy Loc commune was flooded, with a risk of breaking about 60%; 300m of Gieng canal dike in Tien Luong commune was flooded, overflowed.... In addition, the whole district has 944ha of rice, vegetables, green vegetables, fruit trees, annual crops, and perennial crops flooded.

Armed forces, militia and local people support flooded households to relocate their properties.

In order to overcome the consequences of natural disasters as soon as possible and minimize the damage caused by natural disasters, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Cam Khe district has directed the armed forces, militia and local people of Cam Khe district to join hands with the government, focus all resources on organizing support for people to evacuate people and property; build dykes and embankments as soon as possible to limit damage...

On-site force 4 and Tuy Loc commune people rebuilt the dike surrounding the flooded Gieng stream in Tang Xa area.

However, according to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the storm situation will remain very complicated until at least September 11, so people and local authorities need to closely monitor the weather situation to promptly deploy response plans, support people, and limit damage caused by natural disasters.
