The provincial Agricultural Extension Center has coordinated with the Department of Fisheries and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to organize training courses to guide measures to prevent and control aquatic diseases and improve farming techniques in three concentrated aquaculture areas of the province.
Accordingly, training sessions took place in Gia An - Tanh Linh commune (freshwater farming); Son My commune - Ham Tan district (brackish water farming) and Phu Quy district (marine farming). Here, leading experts in aquaculture deployed the following contents: Instructions on disease prevention measures and dissemination of regulations on marine farming; Measures, techniques as well as ways to prevent and control diseases for saltwater and brackish water aquaculture. In addition, aquaculture farmers in localities were also disseminated the 2017 Fisheries Law, the Veterinary Law and guiding documents on prevention and control of aquatic animal diseases.
In particular, technical solutions to improve survival rates and health management measures, ways to prevent and treat diseases in aquatic animals; Common diseases and solutions to prevent and treat diseases in freshwater aquatic animals... In addition, experts also introduced a number of models of technology and equipment application in brackish and saltwater aquaculture that have achieved efficiency in other provinces and cities. Thereby, helping people who are raising aquatic animals in key areas in the province to have more knowledge, be able to respond promptly when the farming area has problems, create a favorable environment for aquatic products to develop, and improve the resistance of aquatic products. From there, helping farmers invest in effective production, reduce costs and damage caused by diseases.
