With the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the close attention and direction of the province, the participation of the entire political system, fishermen in the province have made efforts to rebuild production after 5 months of storm YAGI. In the first days of the new year 2025, fishermen have urgently started production.

In Ben Giang area, Tan An ward, Quang Yen town, right after the 2025 fishing festival organized by the ward People's Committee to encourage people to compete in labor production at the beginning of the new year, many fishing boat owners in the ward have started going to sea, making the first fishing trip of the year of At Ty. Tan An ward currently has 82 aquaculture households in the planned area of Quang Yen town and 162 fishing boats operating in the offshore and coastal areas, creating jobs for 576 local workers. In 2024, although people suffered extremely heavy losses due to storm No. 3 Yagi, the total value of products in the area still reached 680 billion VND, of which the fisheries sector alone contributed 182 billion VND.

Mr. Ngo Dinh Vinh, Zone 2, Tan An Ward, Quang Yen Town excitedly shared: The difficulties are not over yet, but the main thing is that we must strive to overcome them to continue production. My house   both aquaculture and   Fishing boats in the open sea. On the 6th day of the lunar calendar, my family's boat also started its first fishing trip after the Lunar New Year holiday. Each fishing trip at sea also takes about 15 days to return to shore, I also hope that this year's first fishing trip will be lucky and have favorable weather. During the fishing trip, we fishermen always unite and support each other and always believe that we not only exploit aquatic products but also protect the sovereignty of the sea border, do not violate the waters of other countries and absolutely do not use prohibited fishing methods to exploit in a destructive manner. We have been attached to the sea all our lives, our family has been following the sea for several generations, so we must preserve and protect not only for our own lives but also for our future generations.

Not only have fishing fleets begun to set sail, but many aquaculture households have also started preparing for aquaculture seeding activities at the beginning of the new year of At Ty. The spirit of proactively rising up after the storm and enthusiastically working in production is the great determination of fishermen in the province in the first days of the new spring.   Up to now, the mollusk farming area in the province has recovered 100% of the area equivalent to 10,200 hectares. About 14,000 marine fish cages have now been restored by households by over 50%. In total,   7,500 hectares of shrimp farming in the whole province are still intact and households are urgently renovating ponds to prepare for spring-summer crop release.

Mr. Bui Huy Hieu, Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City, said: Last Tet, my wife and I spent Tet on a raft to look after 60 groups of grouper and cobia fish that had recovered after the storm. After 5 months, the fish have grown big, with a total output of about 10 tons. I am still focusing on taking care of them so that we can harvest them at the end of the year. I am also preparing some oyster and clam seeds to release in February to use for short-term farming. This type of mollusk is faster to raise than fish, and can be harvested after about 10 months to more than a year.

In 2025, Quang Ninh agricultural sector strives to   Total annual aquatic product output reached 175,000 tons, an increase of 5.4% compared to 2024. With efforts to overcome difficulties in aquaculture after the storm, the vitality of the province's aquaculture areas has been revived thanks to the efforts of the fishermen. And this is also a positive signal for the agricultural sector of Quang Ninh in the new year 2025, determined to bring the growth target of the aquatic product sector to 6 - 8%.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Son, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province, said: For the aquaculture sector in 2025, we aim to have two very important goals: focusing on managing the entire chain from seed production to intensive technical processes as well as materials and equipment serving the development of the aquaculture industry. At the same time, focusing on managing and building standard technical processes and regulations for farming areas, especially marine farming, and expanding intensive farming areas, and managing the quality of nursery areas, regenerating and conserving aquatic resources in the province to create on-site seed sources for industry production.

Along with that, the industry continues to coordinate with coastal localities to accelerate the progress of handing over sea areas for people to restore production and rebuild the province's fisheries sector based on three pillars: Restructuring the fleet to reduce exploitation intensity, in accordance with the reserves and recovery capacity of aquatic resources; promoting aquaculture towards sustainability, industrial scale and increasing value; establishing and managing conservation areas well, protecting aquatic resources.
