More than 1,000 containers containing machinery, equipment, and animal feed imported to Cat Lai port, SPITC after 90 days still have no recipient.

The Saigon Port Customs Branch, Region 1 (HCMC Customs) said that over the past several months, there have been 1,015 containers and 47 bulk shipments backlogged, imported through Cat Lai port but with no recipients.

The entire amount of goods above are mainly machinery, equipment, animal feed, consumer goods... imported to Cat Lai port, SPITC since the beginning of this year. The goods have been backlogged for more than 90 days since the date of arrival at the port, but the owner has not yet come to complete the procedures to receive the goods.

To speed up the processing of goods currently in stock at the warehouse, Saigon Port Customs Branch, Region 1 is notifying relevant organizations and individuals to receive the goods (within 60 days) from the date of the first notification.

For perishable goods, frozen goods, dangerous and toxic chemicals, goods with a shelf life of less than 60 days, the deadline for the person to receive the goods is 15 days.

If after the above time, no individual or organization comes to receive, the authorities will handle the next steps according to regulations.

Previously, at Ho Chi Minh City ports, there were also cases where businesses did not come to complete procedures to receive goods, but not as many as this time. At Hai Phong port, in early June, authorities had to issue notices to find the owners of luxury cars worth tens of billions of dong. These cars were also forgotten for up to 5 years without anyone coming to claim them.
