On the morning of April 26, at Lam Son Square (Thanh Hoa City), the Provincial People's Committee organized the Fire Fighting and Rescue Competition "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Safety Team" in Thanh Hoa province in 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the competition).

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem said: Recently, there have been many fires, explosions, accidents, and incidents nationwide, causing serious damage to people and property. In Thanh Hoa, in the first quarter of 2024, there were 40 fires, causing 3 deaths, property damage estimated at over 2.5 billion VND and 2.5 hectares of forest. Fire prevention and fighting forces mobilized over 53 vehicles, 321 officers and soldiers to organize fire fighting, rescue, and relief; promptly and effectively organized fire fighting in 36 fires, 10 rescue cases.

In fire prevention and rescue work, the motto "4 on-site" is always given top priority to proactively prevent fires, explosions, accidents and incidents. Thanh Hoa province has strongly and widely launched the movement of All people participating in fire prevention and rescue work. In particular, the model of Inter-family Fire Safety Team has been built and operated effectively, implementing well measures to ensure fire safety in residential areas, houses, production and business establishments.

The competition is organized to continue to build, consolidate and promote the effectiveness of the model of "Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Interfamily Team" to meet the requirements of fire prevention, fighting and on-site rescue; improve skills, tactics and coordination efficiency in fire prevention, fighting and rescue between forces. In particular, this is an opportunity for competition, exchange and learning between athletes who are members of Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Interfamily Teams to improve individual skills and tactics for each athlete, becoming the core in fire prevention and fighting and rescue work at the facility.

After the opening ceremony, 27 teams entered the theoretical exam on fire prevention and fighting knowledge, and competed in the practical exam with the following contents: fire fighting organization; skills in using fire fighting tools, fire extinguishers; skills in rescuing people and moving property for houses combined with production and business; skills in organizing escape during a fire; first aid skills...

Based on the total score achieved after the two theoretical and practical rounds of the teams, the Organizing Committee will rank them to award first, second and third prizes to the best units.

As a result, Sam Son City team won first prize, Ngoc Lac team won second prize, Thanh Hoa City team won third prize. Sam Son City team will represent the province in the upcoming regional firefighting and rescue competition "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Team" taking place in Binh Dinh province.
