Provincial Party Secretary Quan Minh Cuong works with Tan Phat Minerals Joint Stock Company

On the morning of March 20, a working delegation of the province led by Comrade Quan Minh Cuong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, visited and worked on the situation of exploitation and processing of nickel - copper minerals at Tan Phat Minerals Joint Stock Company under PC1 Group Joint Stock Company. Accompanying the delegation were representatives of the provincial People's Committee and a number of departments, branches and localities.

Provincial Party Secretary Quan Minh Cuong visited the project's mining site in Ha Tri hamlet, Quang Trung commune.

The delegation visited the project's mining site in Ha Tri village, Quang Trung commune, Hoa An district; visited and surveyed the grinding and selection area, the central control house and production process, and the finished product area of ​​the Nickel - Copper selection plant. The plant was built with a total investment of about 1,700 billion VND in phase 1, covering an area of ​​over 211 hectares, with a mining and processing capacity of 600,000 tons of raw ore/year. To achieve efficiency in the operation process, the Company always focuses on synchronously applying many solutions to improve economic efficiency such as: implementing good management according to technical and economic norms in production stages; optimizing operating models; promoting computerization, automation, using modern technology, especially semi-self-grinding technology applied for the first time in Vietnam. After more than 2 years of the factory being officially put into operation, Tan Phat Mineral Joint Stock Company has exploited and crushed over 1.2 tons of raw ore, processed about 106,000 tons of nickel ore of export quality; revenue reached over 1,800 billion VND; paid over 820 billion VND to the State budget; created jobs and stable income for 161 workers, including 120 local workers. The average income of workers reached 11.5 million VND/person/month.

At the working session, leaders of PC1 Group and Tan Phat Minerals Joint Stock Company shared some difficulties and problems in the process of implementing the expansion of phase 2 of the project related to regulations on legal procedures under the authority of central ministries and branches. The nickel and copper mineral content of the project is much lower than the average of other mines, leading to high investment costs from exploration, exploitation and processing steps. The factory's capacity is running below the installed equipment capacity, currently only operating at 70% of the equipment capacity. The company recommends: The province directs relevant departments, branches, units and localities to have solutions to improve the power system to reduce the number of power outages; promptly approve specific land prices as well as establish and approve compensation and land recovery plans for Road No. 9; create conditions for the unit to speed up procedures for phase 2, expanding Ha Tri and Phan Thanh mines.

Highly appreciating the results and operational efficiency, Comrade Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Minh Cuong province acknowledged the company's contributions to the local socio-economic development, this is the production and business unit that fulfills the largest tax payment obligation for the province. Affirming that in the coming time, Cao Bang province will continue to accompany, support, and create the most favorable conditions for the unit's production and business activities. He requested the company to strictly comply with regulations on mineral exploitation; continue to research, apply, and improve technology, especially in the application of digital technology, green transformation, sustainable development, optimize the production chain for deep processing to enhance product value, reduce costs, increase competitiveness, and minimize loss and waste of resources. Pay special attention to doing well and prioritizing the work of ensuring occupational safety and hygiene, not trading economic benefits for the environment but must go hand in hand and protect the environment; Comply with legal regulations in mineral exploitation, processing and management; fully perform tax obligations to the State, care for the lives of workers and laborers, and continue to support and contribute to the province's social security.

Regarding the company's proposals and recommendations, he directed and assigned the Provincial People's Committee and specialized departments and branches to actively and proactively resolve issues related to electricity supply, land procedures and other important issues as soon as possible to expand phase 2 of the project in the coming time.
