Container truck plunges into abyss, 2 dead, 1 injured

(NLDO) - A container truck carrying an electric pole was traveling on Truong Son Dong Street when it lost control and plunged into a ravine, killing two people and injuring one.


On March 18, Lac Duong district authorities coordinated with Lam Dong provincial police to examine the scene and investigate the cause of a serious accident that killed two people and injured one person in Dung K'No commune, Lac Duong district.

According to initial information, at around 5:00 p.m. on March 17, a container truck carrying an electric pole was traveling on Truong Son Dong Road, from Dung K'No Commune (Lac Duong District) to Yang Mao Commune (Kroong Bong District, Dak Lak Province). When reaching Km 642 of Dung K'No Commune, the truck suddenly plunged into a deep ravine.

The accident caused Mr. D.HM (53 years old, residing in Tan Tien ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province) and a person named TTH (52 years old, residing in Thong Nhat ward, Bien Hoa city) to die on the spot. The remaining person, Mr. NCC, was injured.

Rescue workers are pulling the crashed container truck out of the abyss.

Records at the scene showed that the abyss was dozens of meters deep, the container truck was severely damaged, the front part was deformed. Rescue forces are working to bring the crashed vehicle to the road surface.

When reporters arrived, the authorities prevented them from approaching the scene and asked them not to film or take photos.
