40 Vietnamese teachers and volunteers from 9 countries around the world participated in this year's training course.

The training course on Vietnamese language teaching methods for Vietnamese teachers abroad takes place from December 1-15, 2024.

This year’s event will have the participation of 40 teachers and volunteers teaching Vietnamese from 9 countries around the world. The students will attend the main activities including: Classroom training on Vietnamese teaching methods taught by lecturers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Seminar on “Sharing methods of teaching Vietnamese to children abroad”; Class observation at Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School, Hanoi; Visiting some historical and cultural relics in Hanoi (visiting President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum; visiting the Presidential Palace; visiting the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Museum...) and neighboring provinces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong said that although the training course took place at the end of the busy year, it received positive response and participation from teachers from many countries, showing that the demand for teaching and learning Vietnamese of our overseas community is very large.

Emphasizing that language is the soul of the nation, a bridge connecting generations of Vietnamese people wherever they are, Deputy Director Nguyen Manh Dong affirmed that our Party and State always pay deep attention to preserving and promoting cultural values, traditions and national languages, promoting the preservation of Vietnamese cultural identity in the overseas Vietnamese community.

Along with the attention and support of domestic agencies, the Vietnamese community in many localities has been proactive in overcoming difficulties to organize and maintain Vietnamese language classes for their children. Thanks to that, in some places, with the active advocacy of representative agencies and effective coordination of the community, local authorities have recognized Vietnamese as a language of instruction in schools.

The movement of teaching and learning Vietnamese has made positive progress, however, difficulties and challenges still remain, requiring the cooperation of both domestic and foreign countries to make this work increasingly effective, meeting the needs of our community as well as the expectations of the country.
