This is the thread connecting the Vietnamese community abroad with the national origin.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang also reviewed the results achieved after two years of implementing the Project on Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the overseas Vietnamese community. With the spirit of “Preserving the Vietnamese language, preserving the Vietnamese soul”, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang called on the overseas Vietnamese community, organizations and individuals to join hands to preserve and promote the Vietnamese language. Using Vietnamese not only in the family but also in the learning, working and international exchange environment will contribute to preserving the national cultural identity.

Representing overseas Vietnamese, Ms. Tran Hong Van, Vietnamese Language Ambassador 2023, shared that helping overseas Vietnamese children speak Vietnamese, love Vietnamese culture and help them connect with their national roots will help them build a solid foundation to shine anywhere in the world. She also emphasized that maintaining the language and culture for the young generation of Vietnamese in Australia and other countries around the world requires the efforts of all parties involved.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Manh Dong officially announced the Contest "Searching for Vietnamese Ambassadors Abroad in 2025".

In addition, the ceremony also announced a number of activities in response to the Vietnamese Language Honor Day to spread love for the mother tongue and encourage overseas Vietnamese to preserve and promote the national language identity. Specifically, the Foreign Television Department, Vietnam Television (VTV4) introduced the programs "Vietnamese is not difficult" and "Happy with Vietnamese". These will be programs to help Vietnamese people living far away from home, especially the younger generation, learn and use Vietnamese more easily and vividly.

The Center for Vietnamese Studies and Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School (Japan) launched the contest “Vietnamese speech contest, drawing, learning about the homeland of Vietnam” and launched the Vietnamese Bookshelf built by the community. This is a useful playground, helping the Vietnamese community in Japan, especially the younger generation, to connect more with the culture and language of their homeland, while creating conditions for them to naturally improve their Vietnamese.
