The training course was organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse in collaboration with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savanakhet. The lecturer of the training course was Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam, former head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam, former head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will guide teachers on Vietnamese teaching methods in an online training course.
The class was attended by 25 teachers from Laos-Vietnam Friendship Schools and Vietnamese Language Centers in the provinces of Southern Laos and Central Laos. The training course will last from March 22 to April 6.
Speaking at the opening of the training course, Vietnamese Consul General in Pakse Ta Phuong Dung warmly welcomed the teachers to the training course. The Consul General affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always pay attention to preserving and promoting the values of national culture and language, promoting the preservation of Vietnamese cultural identity in the overseas Vietnamese community.
With the attention and support of domestic agencies and localities, the Vietnamese community in Laos has made great efforts to organize and maintain Vietnamese language classes. At the Laos-Vietnam friendship schools in Southern Laos, there are about 4-6 Vietnamese language classes per week. The Consul General hopes that the teachers participating in the training course will continue to inspire and love the Vietnamese language for the young generations of Vietnam and Laos, helping the young generations of the two countries to have a deeper understanding of the culture, country, and people of Vietnam as well as the special traditional relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam said that with nearly 43 years of experience teaching Vietnamese to foreigners, more than 7 years of teaching Vietnamese in Cambodia in the 1980s and many years of teaching in Japan and Korea, participating in dozens of training courses on teaching Vietnamese to foreigners, he will guide teachers on Vietnamese teaching methods so that teachers can convey knowledge to students in the best way. Through the training course, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Nam hopes that teachers will overcome all difficulties, share experiences in teaching Vietnamese and spread the love of Vietnamese to students of Laos - Vietnam Friendship Schools.
