"The result is really bad," coach Ruben Amorim expressed after Man Utd's loss to Crystal Palace in round 24 of the Premier League on the evening of February 2, causing the "Red Devils" to drop to 13th place in the rankings.

"The performance in this match was a little better than in previous matches. We controlled the transitions quite well against Crystal Palace. But we conceded two goals that we could have avoided and Lisandro Martinez's injury made it difficult for the team," said coach Ruben Amorim.
Not only did they lose the match, Man Utd also suffered a major blow when centre-back Lisandro Martinez was stretchered off the pitch at the end of the match. The Argentine centre-back appeared to have suffered a serious ankle injury and was seen crying as he left the pitch.

Speaking after the match, captain Bruno Fernandes also expressed his disappointment at the home team's continued defeat at Old Trafford: "We talked after the games we won. We said that everything we did in the past would be forgotten if we didn't win the next game and that was the case today.
Man Utd need points in the Premier League, everyone knows that. It's a different league and we need to win, but unfortunately today we didn't get the three points."

"We lacked a bit of aggression in the final third and something to score goals. With the players we have up front, we need to score more goals and create more, get players into the game and take chances from there. We had some chances but we didn't take them.
You build on results and when you win games you gain confidence. We have won the last three games and everyone is confident, so for us now it is a setback and we need to understand that we have done some good things and even today we showed some good things.
The results don't show that, but we can still achieve a lot by doing well what we set out to do," Bruno Fernandes concluded.
