To maximize the utilization of water flowing from upstream, the Hai Duong Provincial Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited has directed its member enterprises to concentrate manpower, machinery, and equipment on pumping water for irrigation. Increased inspections of water delivery to the fields are being carried out to ensure water conservation and prevent water shortages in any area. Districts, cities, and towns are requested to operate their local pumping stations to pump water for irrigation; simultaneously, land preparation should be carried out as water is delivered to ensure adherence to the planting schedule.

As of January 23rd, the Hai Duong Provincial Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited had irrigated 19,461 hectares out of a total of 51,446 hectares for cultivation, reaching 37.8%. Currently, Kinh Mon town has not yet irrigated its fields due to many areas of onions and garlic remaining unharvested. The company aims to irrigate 85-90% of the area within the first 8 days of water release.

Previously, hydroelectric reservoirs increased water releases to allow localities to irrigate their fields from 0:00 on January 23rd to 24:00 on January 30th. According to assessments, the water quality on the first day of water release was good, with water levels in the North Hung Hai main canal system 25-30 cm higher than usual.
