HAGL's mainstay suspended
In the round marking the mid-season milestone of the 2024-2025 V-League, HAGL will host Binh Dinh Club at Pleiku Stadium at 5:00 p.m. on February 16. This is expected to be an exciting match, as the two teams are considered to be evenly matched at this point. In particular, the mountain town team has the advantage of playing in the "dangerous" Pleiku, which is difficult to come and go. However, coach Le Quang Trai's team will not have the services of key player Chau Ngoc Quang. According to the tournament regulations, the midfielder born in 1996 will be "suspended" in the match of round 13 of the V-League because he has received 3 yellow cards.
It is not too much to say that the absence of Chau Ngoc Quang will affect HAGL's chances of winning against the martial arts team. The importance of the 29-year-old midfielder to HAGL is clearly shown through the statistics from the beginning of the season until now. In the V-League arena alone, Ngoc Quang has played every match for the mountain town team in the past 12 rounds, playing about 1,000 minutes (averaging about 83 minutes/match). He contributed a lot to the team's overall playing style, leaving a strong impression with his fiery playing style.

Chau Ngoc Quang plays as a midfielder, but is also a very dangerous striker of HAGL. After 12 matches, Ngoc Quang has made his mark on 5/14 goals of the mountain town team. Of which, the midfielder born in 1996 has scored 4 goals. He is the best striker in the HAGL squad, and is currently ranked 7th in the V-League top scorer list up to this point. Chau Ngoc Quang has scored many important goals to bring points to the Pleiku home team. Like the match against Hanoi Police Club in round 7, he scored the only goal to help the mountain town team win.
HAGL fans have reason to worry when Chau Ngoc Quang has to sit in the stands when the home team welcomes Binh Dinh Club. Especially in the context that the mountain town team still lacks a leader to lead the attack. Washington Brandao, who has just rejoined HAGL, has yet to show his killer instinct, like when he first came to Ham Rong and played under the guidance of coach Kiatisak.
Difficult to break through the rankings
Without Chau Ngoc Quang and the attack line has not shown its sharpness, HAGL is expected to face many difficulties when facing Binh Dinh Club. It is even more difficult because the mountain town team with a force of many young faces must face a team of mostly experienced players under the hands of coach Bui Doan Quang Huy.

Before round 13, HAGL was in 8th place with 16 points. Coach Le Quang Trai's team needs to win against Binh Dinh FC to have a chance to break into the top 5 (Ha Tinh is in 5th place with 18 points, while Hanoi FC is in 4th place with 20 points). That's not counting the case of Binh Duong FC (6th place, 17 points) and Hanoi Police FC (7th place, 16 points) also winning in round 13.
The task of winning 3 points (or just 1 point) becomes even more difficult, when the opponent is also "thirsty for points". Binh Dinh Club is in a not-so-safe position (ranked 10th). Therefore, coach Bui Doan Quang Huy's team will try to improve its position on the rankings.
