Hanoi regulates 5 cases of direct admission to public 10th grade

The first case is that students of the Ethnic Boarding School who have graduated from junior high school are admitted directly to grade 10 of the Ethnic Boarding School.

Second, very few ethnic students are eligible for direct admission.

Third, students have one or more body parts that are defective or have impaired function that is manifested in an abnormal form, making it difficult to work, live, and study.

This year's Hanoi 10th grade entrance exam will take place from June 7-8.

Fourthly, junior high school students who have won national prizes organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in coordination with ministries and ministerial-level agencies on a national scale in cultural, artistic, and sports competitions; and scientific and technical research competitions.

The fifth is secondary school students who won prizes in international competitions selected by the Minister of Education and Training.

The condition for direct admission is that the student or his/her parent or guardian has a permanent residence in Hanoi. Students can only be directly admitted to a public high school in the enrollment area where the student or his/her parent has a permanent residence.

In case students are eligible for direct admission but do not wish to be directly admitted, they must take the entrance exam to grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also stipulates that students wishing to be directly admitted to self-financed public high schools or private high schools must contact and register directly with the school.

On April 18, students eligible for direct admission will submit their application for direct admission to the educational institution where they are studying in grade 9. No later than May 23, the Department of Education and Training will announce the list of students admitted for direct admission. Then, on July 10-12, students will confirm their enrollment and submit their application for admission to the high school where they registered for direct admission, either online or in person.

In addition to the 5 cases of direct admission, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also stipulates 1-2 bonus points for students who are children of policy families.

In which, add 2 points, the highest level for children of martyrs; children of war invalids with a loss of working capacity of 81% or more; children of sick soldiers with a loss of working capacity of 81% or more; children of people granted "Certificate of beneficiaries of policies for war invalids, where the person granted the Certificate of beneficiaries of policies for war invalids has a loss of working capacity of 81% or more"...

Add 1.5 points for children of Armed Forces Heroes, children of Labor Heroes, children of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers; children of war invalids with less than 81% working capacity loss; children of sick soldiers with less than 81% working capacity loss...

Add 1.0 point for students whose parents are ethnic minorities; ethnic minority students; students in areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions. In case a student has many priority criteria, he/she will only enjoy the highest priority criteria.
