Reviewing a series of wasteful projects, including two facilities: Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital

To combat waste, free up resources, and promote economic growth, the Ministry of Construction has just decided to review long-standing wasteful projects and propose appropriate, timely, and effective handling mechanisms and policies.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Construction assigned the Department of Economics - Construction Investment Management to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to update and supplement full content, information, and reports as required in Official Dispatch 112 dated November 6, 2024 of the Prime Minister on focusing on resolving the situation of backlogged and suspended projects; urgently deploy, complete, put into use, and prevent waste and loss.

Accordingly, a series of trillion-dollar projects that are under construction, wasteful, causing social outrage such as: Can Tho City Oncology Hospital construction investment project, Bach Mai Hospital 2 project, Viet Duc Hospital 2 project, Ho Chi Minh City flood prevention project... will be taken up by the Ministry of Construction, finding solutions to continue construction and put the project into use in the near future.

The Ministry of Construction will also review and amend cumbersome administrative procedures that cause congestion and waste of resources, minimizing administrative procedures and compliance costs for people and businesses. Promote decentralization and delegation of authority, combined with increased monitoring, inspection and supervision in handling administrative procedures to reduce intermediary levels, and end the situation of prolonging the time to handle procedures through many agencies and units.

Strictly implement the announcement, publicization, and full transparency of administrative procedures, digitization of records, and results of administrative procedure settlement according to regulations.

To prevent waste, the Ministry of Construction also said that its agencies are promoting the application of smart governance and digital transformation to improve the efficiency of state management, make information transparent, and reduce loss and waste in the management and use of state resources.
