Hai Ba Trung District People's Committee has just launched a project to renovate and beautify Le Duan Street sidewalks, gates, and fences of Thong Nhat Park (from Tran Nhan Tong Street to Dai Co Viet Street). |
The project has received public attention because Thong Nhat Park is the largest park in the inner city, considered the "green lung" in the middle of the city. |
The main entrance to the park on Le Duan Street will also be repaired for peeling plaster, completely repainted; a decorative lighting system will be installed; decorative green strips will be planted on both sides of the gate to connect the space and architectural landscape. At the same time, the investor will lower the 2 side gates and install barrier bars at the entrance. |
The investor said that the fences and pillars around the park will be completely removed. The brick walls will also be removed and paved with natural stone. Additional lighting will also be installed in this area. |
Previously, Thong Nhat Park had its fence removed from Tran Nhan Tong Street. After the fence was removed, no entrance fee was collected, combined with activities on Tran Nhan Tong walking street and surrounding areas, the number of visitors to the park increased sharply. Activities in the park are now not only for the elderly but also a destination for young people and students. |
From January 1, 2024, the Hanoi Party Committee will decentralize 5 parks and flower gardens (including lakes in parks and flower gardens), including: Tuoi Tre, Bach Thao, Lenin, Thong Nhat, and Hoa Binh, to the districts of Ba Dinh, Hai Ba Trung, and Bac Tu Liem for management, maintenance, and care according to administrative boundaries. |
