According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (March 17), the weather in the Southern region is cloudy, sunny during the day; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. The lowest temperature is about 23 - 26 degrees Celsius, the highest is from 31 - 34 degrees Celsius, some places are over 34 degrees Celsius.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the highest daytime temperature is about 35 degrees Celsius, hot and sunny, in the evening and at night there is a possibility of showers and thunderstorms in some places, the lowest temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Analyzing the weather conditions affecting the region, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that currently, the continental cold high pressure (cold air) is strengthening in the North and continues to strengthen in the South. The Northeast wind over the Southeast sea is weak to moderate in intensity, gradually increasing in intensity from the evening of March 16.
Above, the subtropical high pressure over the South Central - South Vietnam weakens and retreats to the East. Weather forecast for the next 3 - 10 days: cold air continues to strengthen to the South, around March 19 - 20 it will be stable, then weaken.
Northeast winds in the Southeast sea are strong, gradually decreasing in intensity from March 22. Above, subtropical high pressure tends to lift its axis northward through the Central region and is active.
“Beware of strong sunshine and low humidity, making the air outside hot and dry. Unseasonal rain is likely to occur on March 17 and March 23-24,” informed the Southern Hydrometeorological Station.
