In June 2023, Hong Kong (China) will have two friendly matches with the Vietnamese team (June 15) and Thailand (June 19).
Hong Kong actively practices towards the match with Vietnam team
To prepare for these two matches, coach Andersen recently announced a list of 34 names to be called up.
Notably, among these are 8 naturalized players and 2 mixed-race players.
Hong Kong's naturalized players are spread across all three lines with names such as Paulo César (goalkeeper), Hélio (center back), Shinichi Chan (defender), Matt Orr (midfielder) and Mahama Awal (forward).
These are all players who have proven their abilities by helping Hong Kong qualify for the 2023 Asian Cup.
According to statistics, coach Andersen currently owns a squad of players with a total value of up to 6 million euros (more than 150 billion VND).
However, coach Andersen is still quite cautious before the match with the Vietnamese team.
“Vietnam is a strong team. It will be difficult to win on their home field, but we will try our best.
We hope for a good result in the second match against Thailand with the support of the home crowd.
The more important thing is to learn from experience to prepare for the Asian Cup," said the head coach of the Hong Kong team.
On the other hand, the Vietnamese team is also actively practicing towards the friendly matches in June.
Notably, the match against the team from Hong Kong at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong) was also Coach Troussier's debut match for the Vietnam team.
Besides the above match, Quang Hai and his teammates will also have a match with the Syrian team on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh).
