On May 27, gasoline prices increased slightly. At 7:00 a.m. (Vietnam time), the price of US WTI crude oil increased by 0.14% to 77.83 USD/barrel; the price of global benchmark Brent crude oil also increased by 0.11%, trading close to the threshold of 82 USD/barrel.
However, last week, with 4 sessions of "unstoppable decline", oil prices fell to the lowest level in 3 months. However, in the last trading session of the week, oil prices recovered some of the loss and for the whole week, Brent oil prices only decreased by 2.1% and WTI decreased by 2.8%.
For the domestic market, according to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. It is forecasted that next week (Thursday, May 30), petroleum prices will decrease across the board.
Of which, the price of RON 95 gasoline is forecast to decrease by VND800/liter; E5 RON 92 gasoline is forecast to decrease by VND600/liter; DO oil is forecast to decrease by VND600/liter. The above forecast prices do not take into account the authorities' allocation or use of the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund. If the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance allocates the Stabilization Fund, the price of gasoline will decrease less.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 12 times and decreased 9 times. Oil prices have increased 11 times and decreased 10 times.
Domestically, on May 27, retail prices of petroleum products in the markets of region 2 as announced by Petrolimex were as follows: RON 95-V gasoline 24,170 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline 23,670 VND/liter, E5 RON92 gasoline 22,710 VND/liter, diesel oil 20,220 VND/liter, kerosene 20,290 VND/liter, fuel oil 17,860 - 22,170 VND/kg (wholesale price).
