SJC gold price stabilizes at over 87.5 million VND/tael
Today, SJC gold increased and decreased in opposite directions, but the selling price is still high at 87.5 million VND/tael, while world gold continued to decrease.
At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on May 9, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:
DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 85.20 million VND/tael for buying and 86.70 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 86.00 - 87.20 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 85.55 - 87.50 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 85.50 - 87.60 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,308.50 USD/ounce, down 5.4 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 69.701 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 15.499 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Domestic coffee prices plummet
Updated at 5:24 a.m. on May 9, domestic coffee prices dropped sharply, to 5,300 VND/kg, an average decrease of 4,800 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 94,700 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 95,200 VND/kg.
Specifically, coffee was purchased in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces at 94,000 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee was purchased at the highest price of 95,200 VND/kg.
Green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha are purchased at 94,000 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province, coffee is purchased at about 94,900 VND/kg, while in Ea H'leo district and Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 95,000 VND/kg.
According to experts, coffee prices have decreased due to the regulation of the world market. Along with that, the supply in Vietnam is forecast to be positive when there is rain in the Central Highlands provinces.
According to statistics, over the past 10 days, domestic purchasing prices have decreased by 40,000 VND/kg. However, it is forecasted that it will increase again from the second quarter of 2024 when Vietnam's current coffee inventory is estimated at only about 300,000 tons, not enough to supply the market.
Anti-dumping investigation on imported galvanized steel
Steel prices today (May 9) on the Shanghai exchange decreased by 16 Yuan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade received the anti-dumping investigation dossier on imported galvanized steel.
The steel industry purchasing managers' index in China's top steelmaking region Hebei rose 12.7 percentage points in April to 60.3, data from the Hebei Metallurgical Industry Association showed, indicating a strong improvement in sentiment from steel mills.
Coking coal DJMcv1 rose 1.01%, while coking coal DCJcv1 fell back 0.25%.
Other benchmark indexes on the Shanghai Futures Exchange also rose. Rebar SRBcv1 rose 0.30% and hot-rolled coil SHHCcv1 rose 0.16%, while stainless steel SHSScv1 fell 1.04%.
The domestic steel market is awaiting new developments as the Department of Trade Remedies (Investigation Agency), Ministry of Industry and Trade, said it has received documents from companies representing the domestic manufacturing industry (the requesting party), requesting an investigation to apply anti-dumping measures on galvanized steel products from China and South Korea.
Steel prices in the domestic market today have not fluctuated. According to a survey on Steel Online, steel prices in the North are as follows:
Hoa Phat steel price for CB240 coil steel is at 14,040 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel is at 14,430 VND/kg.
The price of Viet Y steel, with CB240 coil steel line decreased by 100 VND/kg, down to 14,040 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel bar also decreased by 100 VND/kg, down to 14,540 VND/kg.
The price of Viet-Duc steel with CB240 coil steel decreased by 100 VND/kg, down to 13,940 VND/kg, and D10 CB300 ribbed steel decreased by 10 VND/kg, down to 14,630 VND/kg.
