The average export price of Vietnamese coffee has increased to 5,678 USD/ton, up 4.4% compared to January 2025 and 70.8% compared to February 2024. Thus, the average export price of this item in the first two months of 2025 reached 5,561 USD/ton, up 75.9% over the same period in 2024, according to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade).
Coffee price today 3/22/2025
World coffee prices continued to move in opposite directions at the end of the week, but in contrast to yesterday, robusta coffee prices increased, while arabica prices slightly decreased.
Domestic coffee prices are currently trading in the range of 132,500 - 133,500. The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) assessed that Vietnam's coffee exports in February 2025 grew positively thanks to abundant domestic supply when Vietnam entered the harvest season. Notably, coffee export prices in the first two months of the year increased sharply by 75.9% over the same period.
The US Federal Reserve (Fed) kept interest rates unchanged at its March meeting, reducing pressure on the USD, supporting commodity prices in general, including coffee.
Supply has been affected by dry weather in growing regions affecting output. According to the latest report of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), global coffee production in the 2023/24 crop year is down 20% compared to the initial forecast, especially in major producing countries such as Vietnam and Brazil, contributing to the high prices. Along with that, the food and beverage industry in major markets such as the US, Europe and China is increasingly developing, promoting coffee imports.
Experts say that coffee prices are still rising at the beginning of this year due to concerns about supply shortages. Vietnam's coffee harvest is gradually coming to an end. Coffee prices will be under pressure to adjust in the coming time as the newly harvested supply is gradually released to the market. In addition, as mentioned above, global coffee demand is showing signs of decreasing due to high prices. Therefore, price adjustments in the coming time may occur.

Global coffee prices are experiencing a period of strong growth, with both major coffee varieties, arabica and robusta, reaching record highs.
Arabica coffee futures on the ICE Futures Exchange in the US have increased by 70% in the past year and by more than 20% since the start of 2025, reaching an all-time high of more than $4.30 per pound on February 11. Similarly, robusta coffee prices have increased by 72% in 2024, reaching a record $5,847 per tonne on February 12.
The main reason for this price fever is that the supply is lower than the demand. Coffee production in the main growing regions, especially Brazil, has decreased due to unfavorable weather. Prolonged drought has negatively affected crop yields, causing arabica coffee production to decrease.
In addition, geopolitical factors such as shipping disruptions in the Red Sea, the possibility of US tariffs and future anti-deforestation regulations from the European Union (EU) also contributed to supporting high coffee prices.
In Vietnam, domestic coffee prices have also increased sharply following the global trend. Robusta coffee prices in the Central Highlands provinces have increased by about VND10,000/kg compared to the previous week. Vietnam's coffee exports have exceeded 2 billion USD after only 2.5 months of 2025. In the first 15 days of March, when coffee prices on the world market increased, Vietnam's export turnover of this item also increased sharply.
However, some experts predict that coffee prices could fall by 30% this year due to high prices causing a decline in demand and the expectation of a bumper coffee crop in Brazil next year. Therefore, businesses and farmers need to closely monitor market developments to have appropriate business strategies.
