A principal was dismissed for injuring a student.

The People's Committee of Cu Chi District (HCMC) has just decided to discipline Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc, Principal of Tan Phu Trung Primary School, by dismissing him from office.

The decision of the People's Committee of Cu Chi district clearly stated that the disciplinary action in the form of "dismissal" was taken against Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc, Principal of Tan Phu Trung Primary School, for causing injury to students, seriously violating the standards of professional ethics, the code of conduct of teachers and violating the obligations of civil servants; creating bad public opinion about the image of teachers, public opinion about an unsafe educational environment; reducing the trust of parents and students in the management staff and teachers of Tan Phu Trung Primary School and reducing the prestige of the district's education sector.

Along with the above decision, Cu Chi district also said that to ensure the timely handover of work and maintain stable operations of the unit, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc is responsible for handing over all files, documents and work he is undertaking to Mr. Pham Dang Tung, Vice Principal of Tan Phu Trung Primary School, before May 31.

Previously, in March 2024, a student in grade 2/8 at Tan Phu Trung Primary School was beaten by the principal with a song lang (a musical instrument used by musicians to keep the beat), causing a head bleed. When reporting to the authorities, the principal said the reason for beating the student was because the student was naughty in class and did not do his homework.
