Cu Chi District, a resilient historical land, has been transforming strongly to develop its economy and society, becoming a bright spot in many areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
Within the framework of the Overseas Vietnamese Meeting Program to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025, on January 17, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City organized a delegation of outstanding overseas Vietnamese to attend the Cu Chi Local Connection Program.
The program aims to strengthen the connection between overseas Vietnamese and their homeland Cu Chi, and at the same time create conditions for overseas Vietnamese to contribute practical ideas and proposals for the sustainable development of the district.
According to Mr. Tran Hai Linh - Chairman of the Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA), as a land famous for its revolution, attracting many tourists every year, Cu Chi needs to focus on developing historical tourism, combining eco-tourism and traditional craft villages. In addition, it is necessary to take advantage of the existing strengths of the district's fruit growing areas, typically the fruit growing area of Trung An commune and traditional craft villages.
Meanwhile, Mr. Steve Bui - Chairman of Delta E&C Worldwide Hong Kong Company hopes that, with many potential advantages, Cu Chi needs to develop industries, river logistics ports, high-tech agriculture, tourism, healthcare, high-quality education... through the above projects to quickly turn the district into a city in the shortest time.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luan - a Vietnamese in Australia, commented that the district's economic structure continues to gradually increase the proportion of industry, trade - services, focusing on urban development, high-tech agriculture, and OCOP products. Therefore, the solution to increase the participation of Cu Chi goods in the distribution channels of Vietnamese people abroad needs to be promoted.
