At the reception for Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and the delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications on the afternoon of February 15, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh shared many impressive information about this group.
Talking about the highlights of FPT Group in 2023, Mr. Truong Gia Binh said that FPT currently has more than 70,000 employees. FPT Group currently operates in 30 countries around the world. Last year, FPT recorded revenue of VND 52,618 billion, up 19.6%, pre-tax profit reached VND 9,203 billion, up 20.1%.
One of the highlights of FPT in 2023 is that for the first time, the group recorded a revenue of 1 billion USD from providing IT services in foreign markets.
This result is thanks to FPT's accumulation over many years. For many years, FPT has focused on developing artificial intelligence (AI), inviting domestic and international AI talents to Vietnam.
“We have gathered a large team of AI personnel, chosen Quy Nhon as the capital, built a university, and developed an AI city there. We also developed an AI platform with hundreds of millions of regular users, and startups can experience it for free. FPT also develops languages, computer vision, and generative AI models,” said Mr. Truong Gia Binh.
According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, AI, semiconductors and automotive technology are the three directions that FPT's technology sector will focus on. These are also the three technology trends that FPT has bet on for many years.
Regarding artificial intelligence, FPT has participated in founding the World AI Alliance initiated by IBM and Meta. This is a community of the world's leading companies in artificial intelligence, with the desire to develop AI in a transparent and safe manner. FPT has also invested in Landing AI - a startup founded by Andrew Ng - the number 1 figure in computer vision.
In the semiconductor chip field, FPT Semiconductor is the first Vietnamese company to design commercial chips, with orders for 70 million chips for Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc. FPT has also cooperated with many organizations and companies in Japan and the US in developing semiconductor chips.
In the field of automotive software technology, FPT Corporation currently owns a team of 4,000 experts and many partners and customers who are big global brands and established FPT Automotive company.
Talking about the goal in the year of Giap Thin, Mr. Truong Gia Binh affirmed: “The heavenly stem of this year is Giap - positive Wood. The Wood part is technology. This year is predicted to be the year of technology development and strong movement. Thin is the year of the Dragon, the Dragon in East Asian culture is a symbol of strength. Thus, the right time is technology, the right place is the power to turn a dragon, the only problem is harmony between people”. That is the reason why FPT is currently uniting and focusing on developing human resources.
According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, in 2024, FPT Corporation aims to increase revenue by 17.5% and pre-tax profit by 18.2%. After the Covid-19 pandemic, what FPT Corporation wants to aim for is to use data, combined with AI to make people's lives happier.
