Recently, social media was abuzz with the news of Fly Pieter, a game created with just a few AI commands, but which brought the author more than $50,000 per month. This event raised the question: Can AI really change the gaming industry and make it easy for anyone to make money from games?
Talking to VietNamNet reporter about this story, Mr. Chu Tuan Anh, Director of Aptech International Programmer Training System, said that creating games with AI and earning a lot of money is not an exaggeration, but a reality.
However, to achieve success like Fly Pieter is not simple. According to Mr. Tuan Anh, the factors of "heavenly time, favorable location, and harmony of people" play an important role.

First of all, the "heavenly time" is the explosion of artificial intelligence, creating special interest in the community. When a person who has never programmed a game can create a complete product thanks to AI, it makes a strong impression.
"Geographic advantage" is the strong spread of this game on social networks, attracting a large number of players. Finally, "popularity" comes from the attention of influential figures in the technology industry, making the game quickly known.
However, using AI to create games completely automatically is not simple. Fly Pieter, the developer, although having no experience in game programming, is a good programmer, has the mindset and skills to use AI effectively.
“ AI helps create products quickly, but the idea, refinement and completion of games still require humans. The view that AI can completely replace humans in game making is not correct ,” Mr. Tuan Anh shared.
According to this expert, artificial intelligence is having a strong impact on the gaming industry. First of all, AI helps to significantly shorten game development time. Programming steps that used to take months can be completed in just a few hours. This helps programmers focus on creating content, making games more attractive, instead of just focusing on coding.
Artificial intelligence also strongly inspires people without a game programming background, motivating many to enter this field.
However, the explosion of AI also means that the gaming industry will become more competitive. When anyone can create a game, the market will quickly become saturated, forcing developers to invest more in quality instead of simply mass-producing simple games.

Regarding concerns about AI replacing programmers, Mr. Chu Tuan Anh said that this is only partly true. AI can handle repetitive programming tasks quickly, but cannot replace creative ideas, script building, graphic design or sound creation.
These steps still require human thinking. Therefore, programmers should not be afraid but need to equip themselves with the skills to use AI as a support tool, helping to optimize work instead of being completely replaced.
In fact, the game programming training industry in Vietnam is not popular and does not have a systematic curriculum. Most training institutions have not yet integrated AI into their curriculum. However, some organizations have implemented international game training programs that keep up with modern programming standards, including a “Prompt Engineer” course that helps exploit the power of AI.
Currently, the number of gamers in the world is constantly increasing, but in developed countries, the number of game programmers and programmers in general is decreasing, creating a great demand for human resources for the game industry.
The gaming industry is an industry with the potential to bring in large revenues for Vietnam. The game programming industry, or game programming outsourcing, is an industry that can bring in a lot of foreign currency and develop the digital economy. This is considered an opportunity for Vietnam - a country with a young workforce, who love technology and are ready to approach AI.
