On the evening of March 21, at October 8 Square, Nguyen Nghiem Ward (Duc Pho Town), the Town Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Pho Town solemnly held the Ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Duc Pho Liberation Day (March 23, 1975 - March 23, 2025) and the 5th anniversary of Duc Pho town's establishment (2020 - 2025) with the theme "Duc Pho - Forever resounding heroic song".

50 years ago, in response to the General Offensive and Uprising in the whole South, the army and people of Duc Pho, together with the army and people in the province, launched strong attacks under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee. At exactly 0:15 on March 23, 1975, the "Determination to fight, determination to win" flag of our army and people flew over the enemy's last lair in Duc Pho, marking a major historical event: Duc Pho was completely liberated, contributing to the liberation of Quang Ngai province and the liberation of the South, unifying the country.

After 50 years of liberation, Duc Pho has had a strong transformation, bringing a new look to a young city that is striving to develop.

On February 1, 2020, Duc Pho district was recognized as a town. This is not only an important milestone for the Party Committee and people of Duc Pho to proudly continue the tradition of their homeland, but also opens up opportunities for the southern gateway of the province to develop. After 5 years of establishing the town, the urban appearance of Duc Pho town is increasingly prosperous, especially the traffic infrastructure and urban infrastructure have many positive changes. By 2025, compared to the standard of a type IV urban area, Duc Pho town will reach 93/100 points; compared to the standard of a type III urban area, Duc Pho town will reach 78.5/100 points; the urbanization rate will reach 57%.

The town's economy has been growing at a high rate. By 2024, the total production value (calculated at current prices) is estimated to reach nearly 55 trillion VND, 1,044 times higher than in 1975, 46.2 times higher than in 2005 and 6 times higher than in 2015. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction; the proportion of industry - construction and services increased from 11.98% in 1975 to 88.7% in 2024. The average production value per capita in 2024 (calculated at 2010 comparable prices) reached 283 million VND. By the end of 2024, the town's poverty rate will decrease to 2.2%.
