The Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO – ruling party since 1975) was born on June 25, 1962. In February 1977, at its 3rd Congress, the Mozambique Liberation Front announced its transformation into the FRELIMO Party and took Marxism-Leninism as its guiding ideology. Since the first multi-party general election in October 1994, FRELIMO has continuously won and held power over the country to this day.

The FRELIMO Party was one of the first political parties with which the Communist Party of Vietnam established relations since the 1960s. The two parties have maintained a traditional friendly relationship. Over the past time, the relationship between the two parties has developed well, contributing to strengthening political trust, creating an important premise to promote cooperation between the two countries in many fields.

On the same day, the working delegation coordinated with the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique to organize a trade and investment promotion conference.

Attending the conference were Mr. Pham Hoang Kim, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique; Mr. Alvaro Massingue, President of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Gil Bies, General Director of the Mozambique Chamber of Investment and Export, and many Mozambican enterprises with the desire to seek investment cooperation opportunities.

Also on June 20, the delegation and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique visited and laid flowers at Ho Chi Minh Avenue in Maputo, Mozambique's capital.
