Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang led a delegation from Hai Duong province to offer incense at the Vo Nguyen Giap temple in the special national relic site of Tran Hung Dao forest.

On the afternoon of December 7, the Hai Duong Provincial Delegation led by Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, continued their journey to the place where the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army was founded and organized gratitude activities in Cao Bang Province. This is a meaningful activity on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024).

Also attending were a number of members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach accompanied the delegation.

The delegation laid wreaths and offered incense at the temple of General Vo Nguyen Giap in the special national relic site of Tran Hung Dao forest, expressing their respect and gratitude for the contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap - an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, Commander-in-Chief, and Elder Brother of the Vietnam People's Army.

The Tran Hung Dao National Special Relic Site is located at the foot of Slam Cao Mountain in Tam Kim and Hoa Tham communes, Nguyen Binh district (Cao Bang), about 50 km from Cao Bang city.

Hai Duong province delegation visited the central stele house - where the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army was established.

Here, on December 22, 1944, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army - the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army was established under the Directive of leader Ho Chi Minh, consisting of 3 squads with 34 soldiers selected from the Cao-Bac-Lang soldiers under the direct command of comrade Vo Nguyen Giap. This was the first main unit of the revolutionary armed forces. Under the red flag with yellow star, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army solemnly recited 10 oaths.

Recording his thoughts at the shrine of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang stated: “On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, today, with great honor and pride, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province, respectfully offer incense and bow before the spirit of General Vo Nguyen Giap - the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh. Before the spirit of the General, the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong province promise to be absolutely loyal to the Party, follow the path set by the General and revolutionary predecessors…”.

After the incense offering ceremony, the delegation visited the central stele house, the simulated shelter, and the kitchen of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army in the special national relic site of Tran Hung Dao forest.

The Tran Hung Dao National Special Relic Site is located at the foot of Slam Cao Mountain. There are many ancient trees and the Slam Cao peak, which is very convenient for observation and revolutionary activities.

Previously, the delegation visited the special national historical sites of Dinh Hoa Safe Zone (ATK) in Dinh Hoa District (Thai Nguyen) and Tan Trao in Son Duong District (Tuyen Quang); worked with the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee; visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids and sick soldiers of Cao Bang Province; visited and presented gifts at Lung Nam Border Guard Station in Ha Quang District (Cao Bang); offered incense at the Hoang Dinh Giong Memorial Site, the Pac Bo special national historical site, including the Kim Dong relic site.

On December 8, the delegation continued to have a number of activities and ended the trip to the source in Cao Bang.
