On July 9, in Da Nang city, the delegation of Lao Cai province led by comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the People's Committee of Da Nang city to exchange experiences in digital transformation.
Receiving and working with the Lao Cai Provincial Delegation, Da Nang City had comrade Le Trung Chinh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors of the city.
The Lao Cai delegation included Do Truong Son, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Lao Cai City Party Committee; Sung A Lenh, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of a number of provincial departments, agencies and branches.
At the meeting, the People's Committee of Da Nang City shared many solutions in digital transformation. Comrade Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of the city emphasized: To successfully transform digitally, it is necessary to mobilize the participation of the entire political system. Digital transformation is the "driving force" in the city's development, a task that is both urgent and long-term, and must be carried out resolutely, persistently, and continuously with firm, positive, proactive steps and with a focus and key points; inheriting the achievements in technology development and application of existing digital data, coupled with innovation and creativity".
The Resolution of the 22nd Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025, identified one of the three key and breakthrough tasks as: "Strongly innovating the growth model, restructuring the economy, focusing on strongly developing high-tech industry and information technology, associated with building a creative startup city, a smart city, creating a foundation to promote the development of new industries and fields, especially the digital economy, digital society and digital government". Da Nang City strives to complete the construction of a smart city by 2030, synchronously connecting with smart urban networks in the country and the ASEAN region.
Like other localities nationwide, Da Nang city focuses on digital transformation based on three pillars, including digital government, digital economy and digital society. According to the 2022 digital transformation assessment report of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Da Nang city ranked first in the provincial digital transformation index for the third consecutive year, leading all three pillars of digital transformation and 13 consecutive years leading the ranking of the index of readiness to apply and develop information technology (Vietnam ICT Index) among the group of provinces and centrally-run cities.
In addition, Da Nang city was evaluated and honored by many specialized organizations and associations, awarded the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2023 and the Vietnam Smart City Award 2023. WeGO (World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization) honored in the category "Human-CentriCity Prize" - Human-centered smart city, with the digital journey platform product in 2023.
Da Nang City has put into operation and exploited the Smart City Operation Monitoring Center (IOC) and district operation centers (OC).
Along with that, Da Nang city has deployed many applications, utilities, and channels for people and businesses to use and has achieved a high level of interaction between the government and people in the digital environment, such as: Danang Smart City multi-service and utility integration platform (1.2 million downloads); MyPortal digital citizen platform (more than 260,000 people have digital citizen accounts); Da Nang Suggestion and Rescue Portal (1,000 suggestions and feedbacks/month), Give and Receive application, Call Center 1022 (10,000 interactions/month)...
The city also has many policies to develop technology infrastructure and attract human resources. In 2024 alone, the City People's Committee submitted to the City People's Council for approval at the mid-year meeting policies to support the activities of community digital technology groups and Project 06; support the cost of buying smartphones for poor and near-poor households; support the development of semiconductors, microchips and artificial intelligence in the area.
At the meeting, leaders of Lao Cai province's departments and branches raised many issues of interest, especially the experience of Da Nang city in developing digital data platforms, digital infrastructure and information security; promoting the effectiveness of the IOC Center, digital applications in management and operations; digitizing data in the tourism and cultural sectors; solutions to develop applications and utilities to form digital citizens to serve the development of a digital society; mechanisms and policies to support digital human resources...
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, expressed his impression of the digital transformation work of Da Nang city, with many breakthrough and creative solutions in developing the three pillars of digital transformation, which are important levers to promote the city's socio-economic development.
To advise on the effective implementation of digital transformation in the province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong requested departments and branches to closely coordinate with relevant units of Da Nang city, regularly exchange information, learn valuable experiences and propose appropriate application contents to local realities in the coming time.
