Cuban Small Farmers Association delegation begins official visit to Vietnam

This afternoon (October 25), within the framework of the working visit to Vietnam from October 25 to November 1, the Cuban Small Farmers' Association delegation held talks with leaders of the Central Economic Committee and paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

At around 2:00 p.m. on October 25, a delegation of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association led by Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, began a working visit to Vietnam from October 25 to November 1 at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

Comrade Phan Nhu Nguyen, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, presented flowers to Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association.

Immediately afterwards, comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, held talks with comrade Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission.

Regarding cooperation opportunities, the two leaders agreed that the two sides will continue to promote information and experience exchange activities in policy making and agricultural economic development. Thereby, they will help and support each other in food production, agricultural extension and agricultural, farmer and rural development. In particular, Vietnam will always support Cuba in the issue of food production autonomy.

Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega introduced the members of the delegation to comrade Nguyen Duy Hung.

The two comrades showed each other special affection.

Immediately afterwards, at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, paid a courtesy visit to comrade Luong Quoc Doan, member of the Central Committee of the Party, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

Comrade Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Chairman of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association exchanged and met in an atmosphere of comradely and brotherly affection.

According to the plan, from October 26 to November 1, the delegation of the Cuban Small Farmers Association will meet with leaders and visit good production and business models in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. The delegation will also visit the headquarters of the newspaper Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet on October 29.
