Investigating the case of 'parents beating teacher because their child had average behavior'

Dak Nong Provincial leaders asked the police to clarify the case of a female teacher in Dak Glong district who was beaten by her parents because her child had "average conduct".

On May 26, the Vice Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting the provincial police to urgently investigate the above information and handle it in accordance with regulations.

According to the complaint of Ms. Vu Thi Kim Quy, 34 years old, a teacher at Le Duan High School, last night while she was with her two children at her home in Quang Son commune, her parents suddenly broke into her house, cursed her, and hit her in the face, causing her nose to bleed. Only when neighbors came to stop her did this person leave.

Ms. Quy said that about a month ago, this parent's son insulted and abused her, so it was recorded in the student's class record. The school's disciplinary board then met twice and agreed to give this male student average conduct for the entire school year.

"Because my child was classified as having average conduct and was not eligible for admission to police schools, his parents broke into my house to attack me," Ms. Quy said. The female teacher said the person who beat her was a junior high school teacher in the same area.

Dak Nong Department of Education and Training said it has asked relevant agencies to report and consider measures to protect the safety of this female teacher.
