Among the most successful cooperatives in Muong La is the Muong Bu Agricultural Cooperative. With a large area of land, the cooperative has focused on investing in high-quality fruit trees such as mango, longan and citrus. By applying science and technology to production, the cooperative has created safe, clean agricultural products that are popular in the market.
Mr. Vu Dang Ke, Director of Muong Bu Cooperative, proudly shared that since the beginning of the year, the Cooperative has sold over 80 tons of various fruits, bringing in an average income of 140 million VND for each member. In addition, the Cooperative also created seasonal jobs for 20 local workers, contributing to improving the lives of people in the area.
Not only focusing on agriculture, Muong La also encourages the development of cooperatives operating in the tourism sector. A typical example is Ngoc Chien Community Tourism Cooperative. With thorough investment and continuous efforts, the cooperative has built a strong brand, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and experience.
Mr. Luong Van Xien, Director of Ngoc Chien Cooperative, said that with the support of the district, the Cooperative has upgraded its facilities and promoted the image of the Cooperative through many channels. Thanks to that, more tourists know about the Cooperative, creating conditions for us to serve about 50,000 visitors from 2022 to present. The Cooperative's income reached more than 12 billion VND, providing jobs for 100 members and local people.
Besides, Phuong Nam Cooperative, in Long Phieng commune, Yen Chau district is also a pioneer in developing high-tech agriculture in Yen Chau district.
Currently, Phuong Nam Cooperative has 35 hectares of longan produced according to VietGAP standards, 65 hectares are granted growing area codes. The entire longan area in the Cooperative's production area is granted food safety certificates, meeting export standards.
The Cooperative's longan products have built a brand. In addition to the domestic market, the Cooperative's longan fruit is present in major supermarkets in provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa... In particular, in 2018, 1.5 tons of the Cooperative's longan were quality tested and exported to the US; for many consecutive years, it has been exported to the Chinese market. In 2022, more than 2 tons of late-ripening longan from the Cooperative were purchased by Noi Bai Air Catering Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Air Catering Services Joint Stock Company, and included in meals on flights... Thereby, affirming the quality of the Cooperative's longan products.
With the synchronous implementation of scientific and technical solutions, the annual revenue of Phuong Nam Cooperative has grown strongly, reaching more than 40 billion VND. Of which, the revenue from longan cultivation alone has contributed more than 30 billion VND. In particular, the event of the Cooperative being recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a high-tech application area last October has become a great motivation for the Cooperative to continue to innovate, moving towards building a sustainable agriculture.
Mr. Lu Van Cuong, Chairman of Yen Chau District People's Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of Phuong Nam Cooperative in applying science and technology to production. According to him, after 3 years of implementing the Resolution on developing organic agriculture and applying high technology, agricultural production in Yen Chau District has made great strides. Many safe fruit tree production areas applying high technology have been formed, affirming product quality and bringing high economic value.
The recognition of Phuong Nam Cooperative as a high-tech longan production area not only creates conditions for Yen Chau district to continue expanding the concentrated, high-quality longan production area but also raises people's awareness of the importance of applying science and technology in production. This will help increase the competitiveness of the product in the market, affirm the Yen Chau longan brand and bring this product further.
The strong development of cooperatives in Muong La not only contributes to improving the quality of agricultural products but also creates many job opportunities and improves people's lives. Practical support policies and enthusiasm of local authorities have become a great driving force, helping cooperatives go further on the journey of building new rural areas and developing a sustainable economy.
